PEMBROKE – Virginia Mae Lingley, 86, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Down East Community Hospital, Machias. Ginny was born Dec. 16, 1925, in Pembroke, daughter of the late Leigh and Alice (Stevens) Frost.
She graduated from Pembroke High School and worked as a packer for Sunset Packing Co. until their closure. Ginny enjoyed making May baskets, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered by all for her kind heart and placing the needs of others before her own.
In addition to her parents, Ginny was predeceased by her loving husband, Sumner Lingley; three sisters, Dorothy, Barbara and Muriel; and three brothers, Carleton, Keith and Elliott. Surviving are her two children, Doug Frost and his wife, Brenda, and Alice Cushing; her sister, Lorraine Gillespie and her husband, Allen; a sister-in-law, Joy Frost, all of Pembroke; six grandchildren, Jason Frost of Pembroke, Jeanette Frost of Pembroke, Travis Cushing and his wife, Darlene, of Eddington, Tabitha Griffin and her husband, Corey, of Cutler, Laurie Cates and her husband, Josh, of Cutler and Nicholas Cushing and his wife, Leigh, of Cypress, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Josh, Chris, Matt, Jakob, Emma, Lucas, Ben, Avery and Max; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Clarkside Cemetery, Pembroke. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais and Eastport. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.maysfuneralhome.com.
