LEEDS, Maine — A Farmington man is on the loose after he escaped from a work-release site in Leeds.

Justin Ross, 35, had been housed at the Central Maine Pre-Release Center, Department of Corrections spokesman Jody Breton said in a news release.

The Central Maine Pre-Release Center, located in Hallowell, houses prisoners with 15 months or less on their sentences and focuses on reintegrating prisoners back into the community through work release opportunities.

Ross was at the center serving a sentence for domestic violence assault, and was due to be release on Oct. 29.

The Department of Corrections, state and local police are working to locate Ross, who is 5-foot-11, 185 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes.
