BANGOR, Maine — A wanted local transient who was out on bail got upset when police arrived at a disturbance late Tuesday, lashing out at one officer and grabbing at his throat, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.
Damian Ouellette, 20, was one of three people involved in the Center Street incident, reported at about 10:25 p.m., and he was the only one arrested, the sergeant said.
“He was disorderly and kept saying he was going to jail,” Edwards said. “He just kept yelling and screaming, then he started to get aggressive. As Officers Kim Donnell and Mike Jewett tried to arrest him, he grabbed … Jewett by the throat and that is when they took him to the ground.”
Ouellette was charged with refusing to submit to arrest, disorderly conduct, violating his bail conditions and on the outstanding warrant. He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and remained there at noon Wednesday, a jail official said.
Jewett was not injured, Edwards said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

No facial scars or bruising? They didn’t take him down hard enough! Punk! But that’s what Bangor gets for their government money for being a center for all the homeless shelters, methadone clinics, transients.
no marks, no witnesses
No blood, no foul…
Clearly you believe someone is getting paid. Itd have to be lots of someone’s in order to cover up a scandal of this proportion. Clearly itd have to be quite a load of money, into either some secret chest somewhere, waiting for the city officials, or its going directly into their pockets. Either way, money is made to be spent. I dont see an influx of spending at all, by anyone. I dont see city officials who have been bought living in luxury. I dont see massive expansion of shelters and clinics (which there would be, if your delusions were fact, due to the nature of the Capitalist System). I dont see a huge influx of people from away. Are there some? Sure. People move. Its a natural thing. It happens all the time. People leave Maine too, you know. And transient is just a word they use to get people” on board” the idea that these problems are not Maine problems. I had a friend who had lived here for over a decade. He got into some trouble. They said he was a transient. Even though he had a Maine license, and established residence and had paid state taxes. So, clearly there is an agenda being pushed here, by you and by the media.
I think you, along with many other people, are massively confused.
Open your eyes and you will see.
For what its worth, they say he is a “local transient”, whatever that means… I take it to mean he’s a local person, grew up in the area, etc. who is now a couch-surfer.
I hope they wailed on him for a bit.
You hope that the cops cried over him?
Strange.
There is nothing with shedding a tear about where society has gone…
Dont taze me bro!!
those outstanding warrants are bad. they are called bench warrants sometimes people get them when they miss a court date or late on paying a fine or restitution. sometimes people never get word that they are are supposed to be in court. can be stressful
I have been to court… a lot. Court of many types and for many reasons. I have never failed to get a notice. Not once. When they issue bench warrants they oft times send you a letter informing you of it. Ive seen it happen before…. Assuming of course you have a mailing address.
interesting.
Is it? Which part? The part where I admit to having been to court many times? I suppose you likely believe that makes me somehow inferior to you, or other… dare I say, do-gooders? Pardon me for being brutally honest. I suppose being truthful in a world of lies is indeed problematic. I also have a hard time kneeling or abiding by another’s rules if I find them logically disagreeable. I would say that lots of people go to court for lots of different reasons. If you must know, I am not a felon. Therefore, my reasons for having gone to court clearly cannot be that horrid or significant or related to dangerous, violent or damaging illegal activity. Regardless, I am unconcerned. Good day.
Violence begets violence. The police did their job in apprehending the subject. Wishing him any more harm is sadistic. He will face his punishment, in court and elsewhere.
“refusing to submit to arrest”, not assault on a police officer?
I did not know the Smashing Pumpkins were playing Bangor this week?
These young ‘guys’ with the no hair heads are beginning to all look the same.
Hair today gone tomorrow.
I think he’s innocent.
No neck tats.
Scum….ship him to warren for a while, too many idiots like this ruining Bangor
He should be deported. Kick him out of the state….after he pulls a few months sweeping streets, or mopping up jail house toilets.
Should be out of jail in time to vote for Obama
So this story fails to say how long this punk stayed in jail and how fast he got bail, after all it was just a police officer he assaulted, no big deal, he had the right to be drunk, loud and stupid, it is not like he was driving drunk! Places like California have a “three strike law”, here we have like a 15 strikes law.
How much you wanna bet he’s still strapped to the chair???
What chair?
Call me old and crochety. Or anything else for that matter. I don’t care. I have seen too many young men and women die who weren’t acting like complete a/holes to ever ever give a crap about people like this person. Military deaths, accidents here stateside. Quite a few. Nope. No sympathy at all.
DAMIAN!!!!! GEEEZ unimpressed :(
