BANGOR, Maine — A local woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after leaving Kohl’s with unpaid items, police said.
Meshel White, 18, of Bangor concealed $40 worth of socks and jewelry in her purse and tried to leave the store, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.
Police were quickly contacted when White left the store, and Officer James Dearing responded and arrested her.
She was booked into the Penobscot County Jail and later released on bail. (Ryan McLaughlin, BDN)

wouldn’t a summons be enough? I forgot it’s Rambo Dearing. Good thing it was not an election warden . Did he need to draw his gun on the little girl?
There may be more circumstances than what we’ve been told- she may be on probation, she could be a repeat offender, or any number of other reasons.
Maybe ,maybe Mr. Dearing is a bit Gun hoe . The man could not even vote without his gun .
Do you understand the concept “Second Amendment Rights”?
I do not think I would be allowed to carry a gun into a voting both but I could be wrong.
this has nothing to do with this article, way to be off topic…….
What a shame–she is ruining her life for what?
How expensive is the jewelry at Khols? The socks may be more of value in this heist…..
It is not “lifting”…it is STEALING. Lifting implies work, thieves do not work!
Neither do the “homeless”. They stand in the middle of the road and hold up a sign that basically says “I’m lazy. Give me money.”
