BANGOR, Maine — A Milbridge woman who was found passed out in the Tim Hortons drive-thru on Main Street last week with her sleeve rolled up, fresh puncture wounds on her arms and drugs and hypodermic needles in her car was arrested on four charges, police say.
Annette M. Reynolds, 42, was found asleep behind the wheel at about 2:30 a.m. Sept. 11 by Bangor police Officer Dan Sanborn, and her vehicle was blocking the coffee shop’s drive-thru lane, Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday.
When Sanborn approached,he saw two people “slumped over in the car,” the sergeant said. “He looked in and saw needles in the car. The driver’s sleeve was rolled up and he could see puncture wounds. He knocked on the window. They wouldn’t wake up.”
Sanborn knocked for a couple minutes, to no avail, then opened the door to try to awaken Reynolds and her passenger, a 35-year-old Milbridge man, who came around after being shaken, the sergeant said.
“She gave the officer some pills — Percocet, Ritalin, Flexeril, alprazolam,” Edwards said. “They’re all illegal and not prescribed to her.”
Percocet is a painkiller, Ritalin is a stimulant used to treat attention deficit disorder, Flexeril is a muscle relaxant and alprazolam is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders.
Reynolds was charged with two counts of Class C unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and two counts of misdemeanor unlawful possession of scheduled drugs. She was taken to Penobscot County Jail and has been released on bail, a jail official said.
She just looks very sad. Without some real help she’ll lose her life very soon.

That is true.I know of a woman who’s been a drunk for 40+ years.She’s never had anything go wrong for her and -surprise-her child and grandchild are druggies.She’s beaten at least two DUIs(possibly as many as four!)

Not everyone who starts smoking marijuana goes on to other drugs. Does that invalidate the gateway argument as well?
In my opinion, yes. People can always choose to have had enough of the druggie life and seek help. Gateway sounds like you are going to harder stuff whether you want to or not.

I would suspect that she first started using soda and/or coffee as the first stimulant, or perhaps energy drinks, then no doubt on to cigarettes and alcohol.

I guess if these two people needed for someone to notice them and call for medical help, they picked a good place to pass out. Hope they seek recovery from their addictions.

Thankfully she passed out while she was stopped instead of while driving. Definitely a sad state for someone’s life to be in, but not an excuse for killing someone else.
