SANGERVILLE – Iva M. Bickford died peacefully Monday, Sept. 17, 2012. She was born July 5, 1916, in Kingman, the daughter of Rae E. (Larlee) and Fay R. Bishop.
Iva was a devoted daughter, sister and wife, and a much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She devoted her life to family, lived her faith, and served her church and community. She had a true gift of hospitality. She believed that all of life was a blessing. Throughout her life she was a member of the Guilford and Sangerville Methodist churches and Unitarian Universalist Church, Sangerville. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband, Frank, created a warm and welcoming home, and their care and concern for others was felt by many.
Iva was wife of the late B. Frank Bickford. She was also predeceased by her brother, Cleo Bishop; and wonderful brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived and will be missed by her brother and wife, Charles and Pat Bishop; her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Harry Bridge; grandchildren, Jennifer Bridge and Christopher Bridge; great-granddaughter, Alecia Bridge; twin great-great-grandsons, Silas and Levon Bridge; brother-in-law, Hugh Bickford; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bishop; nieces and nephews; and friends and especially neighbors at Oakes Manor, Sangerville, where she resided for the past 30 years.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, with the Rev. Dr. Margaret “Dodie” Sheffield officiating. Burial will be at Abbot Village Cemetery.
