OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Stephen C. Harvey, 69, beloved husband of Margaret A. (Finnell) Harvey, died Sept. 19, 2012, at his home. He was born March 15, 1943, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Charles and F. Ethel Harvey.
A graduate of Foxcroft Academy, Stephen proudly served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army, 4th Platoon. He had lived his entire life in Maine and Massachusetts, and always made time for his hobbies, which included fishing, gardening, hunting and watching sports. He especially enjoyed his beloved dog, Pebbles.
Stephen loved his family. He is survived by his dearest wife, Margaret A. Harvey; his loving children, Lori Dawson, Thomas Drake and his partner, David Nevers, Lynn Young and her husband, Mark, Theresa Plummer and her husband, Howard, William Mitchell and his wife, Nichole, Melissa Harvey and her fiance, Nelson Pacheco, and Marcia Haynes and her husband, Benjamin; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He will be remembered by many friends, extended family members and his brothers of the 4th Platoon.
A memorial service will be conducted noon Sept. 29 at Old Orchard Beach Salvation Army, 2 Sixth St., Old Orchard Beach. A graveside committal service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the family lot at Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations in honor of Stephen C. Harvey to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 Route 1, Suite 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
