PORTLAND, Maine — Democrat Cynthia Dill is challenging Republican Charlie Summers and independent Angus King to release 10 years’ worth of federal income tax returns to provide transparency in the U.S. Senate race.
Summers immediately agreed to the request Monday afternoon. A spokeswoman for King said he was at an out-of-state fundraiser and unable to respond immediately to the request.
Dill said her idea is for all three candidates to release their tax returns at the same time through a third party. Dill, who sent letters to Summers and King on Monday, said releasing the tax returns would help the candidates “set the national standard for public accountability.”
The letter comes against a backdrop of a similar debate in the presidential race in which Republican Mitt Romney refused to release returns before 2010.
Dill may have something there.

King was at an out of state fund raiser? Thought he didn’t want “Folks from away” telling Mainers what is best for them. Guess it all depends on which candidate is benefiting from those special interest groups pumping money into their campaign?

Word is that the Dem party is rethinking King.
Is this REALLY the best the Democratic party in the state of Maine has to offer? Really? I doubt if she’s ever been North of Freeport. Will her tax returns reflect the money she paid herself to write her own blog? Its embarassing for the Democrats.

Aahh! Oh boy! Dill almost scared me to death looking and sounding so MAD. Grrr! lol
She’s trying to count on both hands how many Millions “Queen-Bee” has given her to run.
It’s too bad that Dill won’t agree to a debate in Millinocket- In fact, it’s too bad that neither Dill nor King will.
I’d rather see a list of the legal clients for whom Dill claims to have provided immigration assistance.
