VEAZIE, Maine — Veazie police are looking for a suspected thief who stole $500 to $700 worth of marijuana from a man who has a permit to grow the plant for medicinal purposes.

The victim, who lives in Graystone Trailer Park off Route 2, reported the burglary around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The resident had about 2.5 ounces of prepared marijuana taken and the plants in his home were “deflowered, so to speak,” said Veazie police Sgt. Keith Emery.

Police continue to investigate the burglary, Emery said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Veazie Police Department at 941-2358.

  1. There is a strong likely hood that he knows the person who took it or knows someone who is acquainted with the culprit.  If you have it keep your mouth shut about it, you only ask for the theft if you tell everyone you can do it all legal.  It’s not something you want to tell people.

      1. I’ve been paddling down streams and had people on shore tell me that they are “caregivers” or what ever and not to panic and that it is legal.  Is it a good idea to tell a complete stranger about that kind of business.  Especially when I can’t even see it to begin with.

  2. Everyone that has made a post about this is ignorant to the situation, you really shouldn’t comment on something you don’t know about. No one knows what this guy’s situation is, other than that the STATE OF MAINE has granted him the right to do this. Just because he got robbed does not mean in any way shape or form that it was his fault. What about  all the pharmacies and elderly citizens of maine that have been robbed for perscription drugs lately. Is that there fault too? If we could all come together and stop just pointing the finger and blamming the victims maybe we could do something to prevent these acts before they occur. Shame on you all, you have no right to judege anyone else or their situation.
