PORTLAND, Maine — Three chefs have been named finalists in this year’s Maine Lobster Chef of the Year competition.

The Maine Lobster Promotion Council says Kerry Altiero of Cafe Miranda in Rockland, Mackenzie Arrington of The Dutch in New York City, and Melissa Bouchard of DiMillo’s in Portland will compete for the title.

The winner will be crowned on Oct. 25 when an audience casts votes at the Harvest on the Harbor food festival in Portland after sampling the three finalists’ dishes. A three-judge panel of food aficionados will also pick a winner.

The winner gets $1,000. The two runner-ups get $500 each.

    1.  I think it’s “runner ups” if there is more than one, and “runners up” if there is only one…..just guessing!

    2. although both terms seem to be acceptable……I am sticking with “runners -up”  because “runner” is the noun in this phrase.

  1. I cannot speak of the other chefs but I know for a fact that  Melissa Bouchard is born and raised in Maine.  She has worked so hard to be where she is and I am so proud of her.  She has accomplished much and I hope she wins.
