DEXTER, Maine — A local man out on bail for domestic violence and marijuana cultivation charges was arrested again on Friday.

Dexter police received information that Donald Murdoch, 47, of Dexter was with the woman he was accused of assaulting about a month ago, which is a violation of his bail conditions, said Sgt. Alan Grinnell on Saturday.

Officer Dana Gatcomb spotted the woman’s vehicle and saw movement in the car that wasn’t from the driver, said Grinnell.

Gatcomb stopped the vehicle along Route 7 in Corinna.

“Subsequently, [Murdoch was found] hiding in the trunk,” said Grinnell.

Murdoch was arrested for violation of conditions of release and taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, where he remained on Saturday.

The Maine Warden Service assisted Dexter police during the arrest, said Grinnell.

Dexter Police Chief Kevin Wintle said he received a report of domestic violence on Aug. 31, and ended up confiscating more than 200 marijuana plants at the residence. The street value of the marijuana was about $60,000, he said.

Murdoch was arrested on Sept. 4, and charged with domestic assault and Class C felony marijuana cultivation related to the Aug. 31 incident.

    1. It was a violation of his bail conditions. The police have a duty to arrest him if he was there. What if he had forced his way into the car while she was driving and she was afraid to say anything? That condition was for both of their safety, she shouldn’t have been hurt and he shouldn’t be charged again for domestic violence or worse.

They should have thrown the seatbelt violation in too!!

      1. have you the knowledge of  him and his brother STEALING ingots from cambridge tools a few years ago. YES  I do know him and I believe he is GUILTY.

    2. right, we should mind our own business .(sarcassim).. At her funeral, we could all say should have minded our own business like lot2say posted online..

  1. What do you tell a girl with 2 black eyes? Nothing, you already told her twice.  Seriously, why do battered women take these guys back over and over again? You would think one strike and you’re out.

  2. I have known this man for a long time….(unfortunately)! He is finally getting caught for the things a lot of us have hoped he would for a long time. Now, if only they could figure out a way to catch him for the really bad crap he does.

  3. He never laid a hand on her. they have been together every day since he called the ambulance to get her help for her addiction problem. she pulls this crazy crap on him every couple years and then they make up, you should have seen the bruises on him from her.domestic violence is no joke and the police should not use the charge lightly just because they want to arrest someone. whether you like mr. murdoch or not,the fact is he has supported her and her man-child son for many years while she did nothing but slowly drag him down to this level.love is blind they say …….

    1. hey just a fyi… her “man-child” son hasnt been living with them for over 2 years… i think i would know… and if u relly knew him you would know that his side of the story is always her fault… the reason he had to support her was cuz if she went to work he was always off doing coke… but that was just so you knew from someone who knows them and saw them everyday…
      signed… MAN-CHILD SON

  4. “Allegedly” hiding in the trunk?  Unless he’s going to be charged with hiding in the trunk, that’s not really where that goes.  “… arrested for alleged bail violation,” maybe, but “dude was hiding in the trunk” is not exactly an allegation.

  5. This would have been a wonderful opportunity to open the trunk just enough for a teargas canister or a percussion grenade to be slipped in. hehe
