BRUNSWICK, Maine — Police here are searching for an Auburn man in connection with a stabbing that unfolded early Sunday morning.
Jamie Mondragon, 31, fled the scene of the stabbing in a Perryman Drive apartment before responding officers arrived at about 2 a.m. Sunday. Mondragon was believed to be driving a dark gray 2001 Lexus ES300 with a Maine license plate number of 6276RP.
According to a Brunswick Police Department press release, officers who responded to an apartment at 9 Perryman Drive found a 25-year-old woman who had been stabbed multiple times. Though the injuries were not considered life-threatening, the woman was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was listed in stable condition Sunday morning, according to police.
At the time of the stabbing, three small children were present in the apartment. Mondragon is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about Mondragon’s whereabouts is asked to call lead investigator, Detective William Moir, at 725-6623 ext. 167. Moir and a sergeant at the police department Sunday said no further information about the incident is available at this time.
How awful that this happened, and with children present. I hope that the culprit is captured sooner rather than later.
