CONNOR — An ambulance driver escaped becoming a patient himself after an
evening collision with a moose.
The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. Monday on Route 1, Houlton police Sgt. Josh Haines said late Tuesday.
According to Haines, Benjamin Zetterman, 29, of Van Buren was southbound in a 2006 Ford ambulance owned by the town of Van Buren. He and another ambulance attendant were transferring a patient.
As the ambulance approached the intersection with the Jemtland Road, a moose stepped into the road and was struck by the vehicle.
Neither of the two ambulance attendants nor the elderly patient suffered any injuries from the crash, according to Haines.
The ambulance had minor front-end damage but was able to be driven from the scene.
Trooper Dan Marquis was the investigating officer.

Moose all over roadways this time of year.

Yeah, so…………….trying to prove your intelligence.
HEY ! You’re right on top of things.
Did they bring the moose in for questioning?
Brought it to Wing Wah to be made into teryaki.
So…how was the moose?
Does anyone know how the moose is? If there wasnt much damage to the vehicles, maybe the moose was OK too? hoping :/
