SWANS ISLAND – Neil L. Fredette, 57, died Sept. 25, 2012, at his home, after a long battle with cancer. He was born, Dec. 13, 1954, in Somerville, Mass., son of Guy Norbert and Irene Joan (McCourt) Fredette.
Neil graduated from Littleton (Mass.) High School, class of 1972. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Neil spent most of his adult life living in Nobleboro and recently settled on Swans Island.
Neil is survived by his son, Neil C. Fredette of Nashua, N.H.; and brother, Richard Hetz of Littleton, Mass.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Advent Church, 178 Minturn Road, Swans Island. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert. Condolences may be expressed at
