HOULTON, Maine — Fans of the CBS television show “Hawaii Five-O,” should be on the lookout for a small piece of Houlton that may appear in an upcoming episode.
Samantha Carmen, a local artist and owner of Mainiak Ink tattoo shop, confirmed she sold a piece of artwork to CBS for the network to use as a prop in an upcoming episode of the show. The one-of-a kind piece of art, a large pentagram depicting the face of a goat, measures 25 inches in diameter.
Carmen sold her artwork through the website www.etsy.com and had to sign over copyrights to the piece. It took her a couple of days to complete the piece and it was featured on her Etsy website for only a month before it was sold.
Her first reaction was one of disbelief, but once a formal contract was sent to her she realized the sale was legitimate.
“It’s pretty exciting,” she said.
Carmen admitted she had never seen an episode of the television program, but plans to watch now to catch the episode that might feature her prop.
“They were shooting the episode last week,” she said. “But who’s to say if it gets left on the cutting room floor? It’s a chance, I suppose. I have no idea what they are going to use it for, so I will have to tune in and see.”
“Hawaii Five-O” airs 10 p.m. Mondays on CBS.

Great for you !
What do you do with a goat’s head wrapped with a pentagram except to surround it with candles and drip fresh chicken blood on it while doing that voodoo that you do so well?
She must’ve been inspired by some Dominicans………
What the heck does voodoo have to do with it? If anything it closely resembles “Baphomet” the fictional pagan god the Knights Templar supposedly confessed to worshiping (More than likely just a French corruption for the name of Muhammad but I digress…) and even so it’s art, expression, nothing more.
some people just can’t stand to see anyone getting ahead. you go girl!
I was simply being facetious about how that piece of art(?) is nothing but a generic image of various religion’s idea of some version of satan. I never found the crap fascinating enough to study; only silly enough to poke fun at.
I’m glad for her. I like the show. I’m not excited that its a pentagram. They going to bust a cult or something?
Its no secret that I’m not a fan of Satanism. I’m also not a fan of Wicca…. which I typically call Satanism lite or Satanism for dummies. People have tried to convince me for years that Wicca is this good thing. Calling the devil “the horned god” and using the same symbol… hmm?! I’m of the school of thought that says if it looks like a duck etc…. then call it a duck.
Hmm, good point. I, too, send congratulations to Samantha and enjoy the show, but satanic symbolism is satanic symbolism.
And superstition is superstition.
Yeah.. maybe they’ll do a ritual to boost ratings….having the whole show be a Chevy commercial isn’t quite bringing in enough dough. Would make more sense to throw someone in a volcano. Wait.. thats from the Hindu festival of Yadnya Kasada…then again I saw that on wikipedia so i’m not sure. Ancient Hawaiians made leis out of bones, teeth, sticks and kukui nuts to be thrown in the volcano for Pele and thats were the confusion is.
The current Chevy commercials are the worst ever done, just like watching paint dry, using the same bland background setting. Some one sold the Chevy Dealers of Maine works of poor marketing skill quality.
What form of Satanism are we talking about, here? Christian Satanism, as in Devil Worship? Yeah, I’m not a fan of that either. Nor am I a fan of Wicca. Both are just silly. Your labeling of Wicca as Satanism for Dummies is rather comical. Appreciate the laugh.
“Real” Satanism and cults are unrelated. I am sure you recall the “Satanic Panic”? Yeah, well, it was all lies. Satanism, as an established, codified belief system is about the will to power through self fulfillment. Not about abusing people, or worshiping the Devil, or being evil, or any other such nonsense.
*sigh* I wanted to say something about your ignorance, but really? It isn’t even worth it. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, but you are also clearly not willing to learn, either.
Umm………..

Baba looo.
Mark of The Beast.
Repent, the end is near.
While I am happy to see a young lady doing well (and can definitely appreciate the art on a personal level), it concerns me the nature in which the show will likely use this piece. I’m sure it’ll involve virgins, babies, blood, ritual murder, drugs, and anything else absolutely vile and detestable you can possibly imagine. The same old murderous Satanic Kvlt plot line that has been re-used a million times over. Of course, real Satanism has nothing to do with any of that, but, who cares! TV IS AWESOME!
As an aside, she owns an ink shop? Guess I know where I’m headed to see about potentially getting that Sigil done.
REGIE SATANAS
Good for her!! But I don’t know why she chose a likeness of LePage for this
Bwaaaaah….good one, upnorth01!
It’s a piece of metal for cripes sake.Talk about superstition. How could that possibly harm you? If you faith is so strong, it should be able to chase the boogeyman away. Congratulations on actually making some money in this economy. I hope you become famous and wealthy. BTW, I cannot watch the new 50, miss the original.
I wonder how much $ she got for it.
SAMMIE IS AN ARTIST AND I THINK SHE DID AN INCREDIBLE JOB. WHOEVER IS RUNNIN THERE MOUTH SHOULD PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THERE MOUTH IS, LETS SEE SOME OF YOUR SCULPTURES OR ART WORK.
