BANGOR, Maine — A 35-year-old Hermon woman Thursday received an eight-year prison sentence — all but 18 months suspended — after pleading guilty to stealing more than $200,000 from Quirk Auto Group, her former employer.
Misty Beylerian also was ordered to undergo three years of supervised release after completing her prison term and to pay $20,000 in restitution — an amount the prosecution believes she can reasonably be expected to repay, Penobscot County Deputy District Attorney Mike Roberts said Friday.
Roberts said Beylerian had been an office clerk for the Bangor auto dealership group for several years when in November, Quirk discovered discrepancies between the amounts of money being deposited into the company’s bank accounts and amounts posted in the firm’s ledgers.
The company then launched an internal audit that indicated Beylerian had embezzled at least $202,000 during a roughly two-year period, Roberts said.
Roberts said it wasn’t clear what Beylerian did with the money. He said that as an incentive during negotiations with prosecutors, Beylerian was offered a chance to repay some or all the stolen money.
“She wasn’t able to do that,” Roberts said.

She was offered an ” incentive ” to tell the truth regarding this major theft ????
No one knows where the money went ???
Repay only less than 10 percent of what she stole ??
Who makes this stuff up??
It cant be true.
No effing way can this be really happening in our legal system.
Right ??
Right??
Dont pay your property taxes of a couple of thousand dollars and the
town will throw you out in the street quicker than you can say ” yes we can”.
But steal astronomical sums of money and its tut – tut pfffftt, run along darling.
Who does this woman know to waltz away from this??
Steal a $ 5,000 car from Quirks and let me know how you make out.
“Steal a $5,000 car from Quirks and let me know how you make out.”
Based on her sentencing, all you should have to do is give back the hub caps and all will be good.
If you’re wondering where the money went, check out her facebook page, trips to Fenway, Disney, new snowbaords and season passes for her kids…etc.
Embezzle Billions and people will just love you. Seems like she got the raw end of the stick.
And to think she did this to an “honest” (yeah, right) car dealer. Shameful
They will make it up by fleecing their next few customers.
Actually, Quirks insurance company will pay them back and the insurance company will fleece their customers.
why only pay $20,000???
Who is the judge that signed off on this deal?
She got friends in high places.
I think, she got friends in places that are high!
She’s probably the fall guy for some other internal funny business with the books
You might have something.
$202000-$20,000 Divide by 547.5 days in jail = 332.42 per day.
Brilliant math if you don’t have kids, numb nut.
