SACO, Maine — A Scarborough woman who had an outstanding warrant is facing a drug charge after oxycodone pills were found in her vehicle during a traffic stop, according to police.

Lisa Everest, 41, was pulled over around 5 a.m. Thursday on Route 1 after police observed her weaving within her lane, Saco police Sgt. Corey Huntress said.

Everest had a warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous theft charge, according to Huntress.

After she was placed under arrest, a search of her vehicle turned up a pair of oxycodone pills, earning Everest an additional charge of unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, a Class D misdemeanor, the sergeant said.

Everest was taken to the York County Jail and later released on bail.

  1. Pills? In Maine? No way. This is an epidemic, how do we deal with this problem? I hate that this has happened to our state. Maine doesn’t need a reputation as pill popper central. let Florida claim that title. SO deoressing.

    1.  Florida is where most Of Maine’s oxycodone problem comes from. The Feds should start coming down on the crooked doctors who write the prescriptions. But that would be stepping on Big Pharma’s toes and we can’t have that now can we.

      1. It’s true. Hillbilly heroin is pretty easy to get down there. It’s all about the money, and you can’t stop it. It’s just so sad. maine used to be known for hardworking, honest yankees, and now I fear it’s going to be known for pilled up comp cases, laying around being unproductive. (and FAT)
