DIXFIELD, Maine — The family and friends of a Dixfield native who went missing in New Mexico last weekend are holding a candlelight vigil for him Sunday.
Brandon Young, 29, has been working in New Mexico for almost a year as a wind turbine technician.
Last Sunday, he left his hotel in Los Lunas for a drive. Authorities found his white Dodge pickup truck crashed off Highway 47 near Belen about 10 miles south of Los Lunas, according to KRQE TV in Albuquerque.
Investigators believe Young’s truck crossed the centerline, struck a utility pole and went through a barbed wire fence, the station reported. Young wasn’t on the scene, and deputies found footprints leading to the highway.
Young’s friends in New Mexico have since filed a missing person report.
His girlfriend, Jessica Martinez, told KRQE that he was angry and had been drinking when he left the hotel where they had been staying. Los Lunas is about 30 miles south of Albuquerque.
The vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Dirigo High School baseball field.

Nothing worse than not knowing where our loved ones are.
I hope the authorities and all the other caring people in New Mexico
can locate the man very soon.
R.I.P. Brandon. A tragedy followed by another, a partial story printed in a ” leave you
guessing ” newspaper.
This is so sad. Sending well wishes and prayers to the friends and family of this young man. I was a bout to say I hoped he was found soon safe and alive and then I just saw a few posts below saying there has been an update that his body has been found. How tragic. May you rest in peace Brandon.
No update BDN? News reports say his body was found Friday. My condolences to his family.
