SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Two Somerset County commissioners seats are up for election on Nov. 6.
Incumbent Gerald York and challenger Philip Roy Jr., both of Fairfield, are vying for the District 1 seat.
District 1 covers Fairfield, Norridgewock and Smithfield.
Robert Dunphy of Embden is running for re-election to the District 2 seat. He is being challenged by Ralph Withee of Anson.
District 2 encompasses Anson, Embden, Highland Plantation, Lexington, Madison, Mercer, New Portland and Starks.
County Administrator Larry Post said the commissioners run on a nonpartisan basis, and each seat on the five district commission has a four-year term.
