WASHBURN, Maine — A fundraiser is being planned with proceeds to assist the family of a 2-year-old cancer patient with expenses.

Stephen Drost is the son of Stephen and Amber Drost of Washburn. The 2-year-old was diagnosed last month with T-cell non-Hodgkins Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.

“On Saturday, Oct. 20, we are having a benefit supper for my grandson, Stephen John Joseph Drost, at the Washburn District Elementary School at 5 p.m. The supper will include spaghetti, rolls, green salad and dessert,” said Deborah Drost.

The fee is $5 for adults and $3 for children. In addition to the dinner, there will be a silent auction.

“We are asking for donations to sell at the auction. Gift certificates and products of any kind would be greatly appreciated,” said Drost. “All proceeds will go to Stephen for his care, travel, lodging and any other expenses that will be incurred within his two and a half years of treatment.”

Drost said all monetary donations are greatly appreciated and can be sent care of the following address: Stephen Drost Cancer Fund, The County Federal Credit Union, 776 Main St., Presque Isle 04769. Donations also may be made by calling 768-5051.

For information on the supper, call Drost at 455-8012. For information about the auction, call Lisa Ecenarro at 455-1010 or Cassandra Stevens at 455-1027.
