SACO, Maine — A trio of teenagers who were hanging out at Diamond Park after dusk on Thursday – which is against the city of Saco’s regulations – all wound up with charges after police allegedly found marijuana in their vehicle.
Calum Hinkle, 18, and Hayden Hood, 18, both of Old Orchard, along with Jason Driscoll, 18, of Biddeford were sitting in a vehicle at the park which is down by the Saco River around 7 p.m., Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland said.
Officer Keith Mains made contact with the vehicle, and when he spoke with the men, a strong odor of marijuana was detected, according to Holland.
A small amount of marijuana was found in both Hood and Hinkle’s pockets, Holland said, while a bong belonging to Driscoll allegedly was discovered in the car.
Hinkle and Hood were summoned for possession of a usable amount of marijuana, while Driscoll was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Holland said.

Amazing!
This is so crazy….the cops are supposed to bust those that grow pot….. oh wait…. then they are supposed to protect those that legally grow pot…….? How confusing is that to the general public???? I know there are laws to be considered here, but how stupid is all this????? A great amount of money spent to catch the outlaws “illegal pot growers”, and then money spent to “protect” legal growers??? Come on! this is STUPID, and a waste of tax payer money. The legal system needs to make up its mind. Either pass a law saying its ok to cultivate and smoke dope, or pass a law saying it is illegal, and unacceptable. Personally, I do not want to meet some pot-head driving down the road, higher than a kite and in touch with the cosmos… he might easily kill my family while in his happy euphoria…..and then I am am going to be the criminal…..JustSayin!
Marijuana is illegal in this Country.
