FARMINGTON, Maine — A cash register was pulled through a window during a weekend burglary at Pro Service garage on Farmington Falls Road.
Farmington Police Officer Ted Neil responded to a report of the burglary about 9 a.m. Sunday. Someone had broken a window in the office, Rachel Heseltine, police department secretary, said.
Apparently the window did not shatter and police believe the person did not enter the garage but reached in through a hole in the window and took what they could reach. No other items were reported missing, she said.
Police would not say whether there was any money in the cash register.
They have no suspects at this time.
Damage to the window was estimated at $900.

I’m thinking that most places empty their registers into some sort of a safe when everyone leaves….
Ive known many businesses that leave the EMPTY cash drawer open
for all to see that it is empty.
Saves time cleaning up after broken windows , or worse.
