WATERVILLE, Maine — A Waterville woman was charged with operating under the influence early Sunday when her vehicle crashed into a garage at a Western Avenue residence, according to police.
The car driven by Carissa O’Connor, 27, left the road around 2:15 a.m., Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said, but it’s unclear what exactly caused the crash.
O’Connor was intoxicated, Rumsey said, and she initially denied being behind the wheel when police questioned her.
He said O’Connor’s vehicle left the roadway near the intersection of Western Avenue and First Rangeway and went through a hedge before coming to rest in the garage at 145 Western Ave.
O’Connor was charged with operating under the influence but not arrested, Rumsey said. She was taken to Inland Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and later released.
What caused the crash if pretty clear. The driver was intoxicated, duh.
