NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine — A local man was arrested on Monday and found with nearly 50 oxycodone pills, according to police.
A vehicle was searched on Sophie May Lane at about 4 p.m. on Monday after the occupant was observed being involved in illicit drug activity, said Somerset County Sheriff’s Department Detective Lt. Carl E. Gottardi II in a statement Wednesday.
The vehicle was searched by police, who also searched the male subject inside — Jason Keaten of Norridgewock.
Keaten, who turned 33 on Wednesday, was found to be in possession of 49 oxycodone pills, $2,200 in cash and drug related paraphernalia, said Gottardi.
He was arrested and charged with Class B trafficking in a schedule W drug and Class C possession of a schedule W drug.
Keaten was taken to Somerset County Jail in Madison, where he has since been released on bail.
