President Barack Obama has thrown his support behind ballot measures in Maine, Maryland and Washington state that would legalize same-sex marriage.
Though the president first voiced his general support for gay marriage in May, he had not previously offered specific endorsements of the three measures.
In each case, Thursday’s endorsements were issued through the state branches of Obama’s re-election campaign.
In all three states, the outcome is expected to be close, though polls so far give an edge to gay-marriage supporters.
If any of the measures are approved, it would be the first time a state legalized same-sex marriage through a popular vote. Thus far, all 32 states voting on gay marriage have rebuffed it, while the six states that have legalized it did so through legislation or court orders.
Ya and after the election he’ll forget all about the gay community just like he did 4 years ago. I know theres no more “don’t ask don’t tell” in the military ( I’m sure our enemies are really intimidated by us now). However, don’t be fooled Obama cares about Obama. What has he really done for the gay community? Nothing. When will people wake up and realize that this man needs to pack up the wife and kids and vacate the White House. The majority of Americans do not support SSM. Whenever the opportunity to vote on SSM has been offered to the people it has been voted down. 32 states have constitutional amendments banning gay marriage. If you are for the killing of unborn babies you have to live with that. I guess if you are homosexual, you will not be making that decision thankfully. Too bad because that is a huge miracle in life you will not have the opportunity to be a part of. It is an opportunity your own parents were able to experience.
In Maine, where this vote will occur 55% of people polled support equal marriage rights for same sex couples. What has changed is people are seeing this issue for what it is; providing equal rights to citizens under the civil laws.
This is not a referendum on the lifestyle it is respecting the constitutions definition of equal.
Nobody is in favor of abortion. The fact of the matter is that the numbers of abortions are declining because people are getting educated about contraception. Changing the law to outlaw abortions will not stop them. The rich will go overseas and get it done and the poor will go back to coat hangers in back alleys. Changing the law will have zero impact on the numbers and kill more mothers. Educating people is the most effective way to end abortions.
Same sex couples can experience the miracle of birth just as many straight couples who are infertile can. They can also raise a child with love and attention.
The only objection to SSM is religious and folks who have religious objections to either of these issues will not be confined in any way. Voting to HURT LGBT Americans is clear proof of homophobia. Cheating to throw the vote, something the Maine Ethics Commission caught anti-gays doing in 2009, is proof of homophobia.

Marriage Equality is a Civil Rights issue. If LGBT Americans are afforded rights under the law it only reinforces the rights I enjoy in my heterosexual marriage. This issue is not a religious issue so it is not a moral issue. There is nothing under the law forcing the religious community to participate. Well, I will say that requiring Facebook doesn’t mean squat. I see vicious comments from people using their Facebook accounts. And, for that matter, there’s nothing to stop someone from making a fake account.

Illinois passed civil unions in the state legislature, and LGBT Illinoisans are using the Proper Rule Of Law exactly as the United States Supreme Court told LGBT Americans to do in their 1995 “Romver vs. Evans” decision to seek full marriage equality.

I’m sure the President knows we are a Constitutional Republic. It’s refreshing to see the President still has hope that the American People will do what is RIGHT and vote FOR EQUALITY.
I am probably one of the 10 individuals left in this state who has not decided how I am going to vote on this issue. The spin I see is such a stretch on both sides, but I think the Pro side stetches the most. The argument that “If you dont vote for it you are a bigot and hate gay people” is a nasty tactic, and definately not true. “We just want equal rights”… You dont want equal rights, you want special rights. If you wanted equal rights, then you would be advocating for polygamy and inter-family marriage as well. However, I think you may deserve those special rights. The Anti side sometimes goes to far on the “intolerant” side. Guess Ill study some more and decide next week sometime.

Well, Willard had flip-flopped all over this issue! When he ran for Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat in 1994, he told LGBT Massachusetts people he’d be “better than Kennedy” for equal rights for LGBT Americans. How’d that work out? The Boston Globe reported yesterday that while Willard was MA governor, he interfered with the birth certificates of the children of same gender legally married MA couples. And of course, Willard has signed a pledge not only to get that federal Constitutional “Hatred of LGBT Americans” Amendment, he also promised to violate the Constitution’s banning of ex post facto laws by promising to destroy the many current legal marriages of same gender American couples.
Juxtaposing perversion, socialism and incompetency vis a vis an agenda of “Desperation and Insolvency” has likely produced this current generation of Karamazovian wards, whose flaccid resilience to racist themes, effeminacy and intellectual malaise can best be summarized as: Obama failing!

32 states don’t have constitutional amendments, anyway. Some of those votes merely “define” marriage and one even rescinded marriage, but not changed the state’s constitution.
Arizona and WA State have already voted AGAINST anti-gay Hate Votes.

Thanks for reminding readers that anti-gays will attack anyone who won’t help anti-gays HURT loving, committed same gender couples.
