LINCOLN, Maine — A vehicle accident in northern Penobscot County knocked out power in numerous towns early Saturday morning, according to Bangor Hydro-Electric Co.

Customers in Burlington, Chester, Enfield, Lincoln, Lowell, Mattamiscontis and West Enfield were in the dark after an accident on West Broadway in Lincoln, Bangor Hydro spokeswoman Susan Faloon said in a statement.

Faloon said the vehicle struck a utility pole and damaged equipment. Motorists traveling in Lincoln are urged to use caution.

Faloon said power was restored at 7:15 a.m. Saturday.

  1. Way to be on top of stories, post an article about an accident that happened more than 60 hours ago.How about a few more details like, who was driving, were they injured, were they under the influence, wich hospital were they taken to? Or do us readers have to wait until wednesday for that info?Couldn’t the BDN contact the Pd for info on this if they were going to post this article in the first place, but to edit an hour later and not include more details.Just needed to fill a spot again.

    1. While I understand your frustration, I personally would prefer ‘old news’  because the paper has a ‘spot to fill’ rather than just breaking stories of another baby being kidnapped, parent killed by their offspring, triple homicide, or car accident taking the life of anybody.
