I wish the candidates were asked ANY question(s) about the issue of climate change, which is an underlying cause of our economic problems in this country (and world). Seems like it was the elephant in the room no one candidate wanted to address.
King looked like he could not focus or hardly stay awake. He is pretty old, isn’t he?
King showed a fundamental misunderstanding of Obamacare. When discussing how we should reduce the deficit and control spending, he stated that the CBO estimates that Obamacare will save us money. This is untrue. They now agree that it will cost us a lot of money. He was referring to the original estimate which was based on ridiculous assumptions, such as massive savings in Medicare by cutting “waste”. The estimates also took into account $4 trillion in new taxes to pay for the additional 30 million insured. Considering he thinks we should raise taxes to cut the deficit, how much MORE in taxes would he want to raise after implementing the taxes already included in Obamacare?
If you want to raise taxes, that is one thing. But don’t tell us that we can afford to raise taxes and pay for Obamacare. There are better solutions.
