ROCKLAND, Maine — A 46-year-old Tenants Harbor man who has been free on bail since his arrest last month for home burglaries was arrested Friday night and charged with two more residential break-ins, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Ricky Block was arrested about six hours after the sheriff’s office received reports between 4 and 4:30 p.m. that two homes were robbed on Long Cove Road in St. George, according to Knox County Chief Deputy Tim Carroll.
At one home, valuable jewelry, a television and many other valuable items were reported stolen. About 100 yards away, several items were taken.
Deputy Nathaniel Jack and Sgt. Michael Sprague responded to the burglary calls and found key evidence, according to Carroll. Several neighbors reported seeing a vehicle that matched Block’s vehicle. A search of Block’s residence and vehicle turned up additional evidence linking him to the break-ins, and he was arrested for two counts of burglary, three counts of theft, one count of criminal mischief and one count of violating a condition of release.
Block was taken to the Knox County Jail and remained there Sunday afternoon.
The incidents remain under investigation.
Block had been arrested Oct. 19 and charged with burglary and was linked to three residential burglaries in Thomaston, one in Rockland and several others in Knox County. Police had said Block was cooperating with investigators on solving burglaries.

The neighbors must love this guy !
Heres a thought, keep him in jail this time! I’m all for getting bail on the first time around. But if you are out on bail and commit more crimes, you should be held in jail until your court date! You get one chance, screw it up and you stay in lock up until your court date, bottom line!
Who is he, are any of these thieves, selling the loot to? Should be another level of scrutiny & penalties w/regard to property thefts.
Out on bail for burglary, drives his own car over to do more burglaries, and is ‘cooperating with the police’ against himself. Almost sounds like he wants to be locked-up, the free world is too much for him…
winter is here….
Catch and Release… He’ll be back again!
So sad….but true!
Maybe one of these days he will break into an occupied home, one occupied by a gunowner, then maybe this problem will end permanently!
It’s too bad these people don’t break into the judge’s home at least once or twice like I’ve experienced; maybe then the courts would impose fines and sentences to give them reasons to think twice in the future. Nothing enrages you more then when your home and property is broken into and your posessions are stolen or destroyed. I think victims should be allowed 5 minutes alone with these scumbags as part of their punishment…………………….
hate to keep harping on this, but he is nearer 50 than 40, probably eating and heating on working people’s money, running a car on theft proceeds, what good is he, keep him in jail and then on a supervised work program.
Wow! Tim Wakefield looks terrible! Retirement has not been kind. Geeez.
As a homeowner and victim of this man, I am outraged that he was only brought up on a few counts initially which allowed him to make bail so easily. Now some other poor people won’t feel safe in their homes and he continues to cost the taxpayers a small fortune. Why is it that this man, who is responsible for at least 50 burglaries has only been charged in about 3 and his victims have been given no information on when they’ll see justice or have their recovered items returned. In our case, it was clear that there were accomplices, but where is their justice? He’s been cooperating with police by returning stolen items, many of which were given to friends and family who were knowingly taking in stolen goods, where is their justice? Why aren’t we being invited to court, asked to give statements, discussing restitution, where is OUR justice? I agree with countryboy8, perhaps this gentlemen should be followed after his next release to ensure that someone sees justice served once and for all. This man cut cable and phone lines before committing our robbery, if that doesn’t demonstrate to the prosecutor the real threat this man poses then we’ll all be hopeless victims in the end.
Oh look – it’s that nice, cooperative boy, again! What a surprise.
