BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man who was convicted twice in the last year for unlawful possession of synthetic hallucinogenic drugs — bath salts — allegedly was found with the dangerous lab-made drug again on Sunday, police say.

Eugene R. Caston, 49, was arrested at approximately 6:30 a.m. on an outstanding probation revocation warrant by Bangor police Officer Doug Smith and a fellow officer working downtown, Sgt. Garry Higgins said Tuesday.

“They searched him and found a small amount of bath salts on him,” the sergeant said. “They charged him for the bath salts and the warrant.”

In the last year, Caston has been convicted twice of bath salts possession: in May and in December 2011. In May, he was sentenced to prison for 18 months, with all but 30 days suspended, and probation two years, according to court listings printed in the Bangor Daily News.

He has other convictions in the last year for trafficking in dangerous knives, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, the BDN listings state. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

    ^^^^ There’s your problem. ^^^^

    1. Really didn’t have to recap half the article to get around to that point, dude — served 30 days on an 18 month sentence, yeah, most folks caught that the first time around.  LOL

  2. Send him to see a judge that will make him do his full sentence from prior convictions and then add 10 years for this last arrest.

  3. When Gawd was passing out BRAINS, this fella thought He said “Trains” and took the bus.  Maybe it’s the bath salts and his mind is gone…  Got popped twice before for the same thing, and then hangs out with a warrant in an area where cops know him by sight…  Gimme an ‘F!’  Gimme an ‘O!”  Gimme another ‘O!’  Gimme an ‘L!’    What’s that spell?

  4. He’ll be out tonight or in the morning to do it all over again. It might be a good thing to privatize the prisons….   This is depressing and just plain sucks. Lock him up before he kills someone.

  5. Can you say SSSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWW  LLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAAARRRRRRNNNNNNEEEEEERRRRRRR??????  I knew you could.

  6. how many times have we heard this story or ones so similar to it in many of our states cities and towns–I’m thinking these useless repeat losers should not even have another option of being before a judge – they just well kinda disappear ! I feel sad for the cops that keep banging their heads against the wall doing there jobs only to see the problems thrown in front of them again and again…so idiotic.

  7. So this guy has been driving illegally will high on bath salts carrying knives and a concealed weapon( most likely a gun) for a year, while in a heavily populated area , and he gets no more time than a person who didnt pay a ticket!!!!!!! Sometimes I feel like im stuck in a really bad movie, I mean are they going to wait until this guy goes nuts on that sh** and murders a family of  three or violently attacks someone just walking down the street!!!! I just dont know anymore, is there any hope for our childrens future if things go on like this? SCARY
