BANGOR, Maine — Cole Land Transportation Museum organizers and Hollywood Casino Hotel and Raceway officials will honor veterans next week with the unveiling of a monument, donations and a free brunch.

The Cole Museum will dedicate a granite monument on the museum grounds at 405 Perry Road in a ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday. The monument will honor 112 Bangor men killed during World War II.

Hollywood Casino has made a $2,500 donation toward the memorial and also will offer a free brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Veterans Day, for all veterans and service members at the casino’s Epic Buffet.

Also, Dysart’s Restaurant — located off I-95’s Exit 180 — will donate 20 percent of all meals sold Sunday to funding the monument.
