BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor woman who left a nightclub intoxicated early Saturday morning was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, police said.

Officers on duty at Diamonds Gentleman’s Club observed Marissa Black, 21, leaving the parking lot and heading toward downtown around 1:30 a.m., according to Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards.

Bangor police Officer David Farrar followed Black’s vehicle toward West Market Square, and when she came close to hitting pedestrians, Farrar pulled the vehicle over, the sergeant said.

Black failed several field sobriety tests, was placed under arrest and brought to the Penobscot County Jail, Edwards said.

She was later released on bail.

    1. What IS illegal is driving drunk. Think of how she would feel today if she had
hit one of those pedestrians. Even worse…….how would THEY feel?

    2. No but it should be. Of course anyone who drinks needs to plan accordingly for their return trip, cabs are pretty cheap by comparison.

    3. While a little absurd, i find your comment funny enough to deserve a better response. I believe what you are getting at is Profiling!!…And in the great words of Ron White, Profiling is WRONG…I bet they pulled over every car trying to hit pedestrians on that particular sidewalk..Thank Gawd, they didnt catch her walking or they would have had to cite her for being Drunk in Public, when i am sure she wanted to be Drunk in a Bar.

      1. Jeff,… PROFILING is when the funeral home car, arrives to pick up a deceased person, after being hit by a drunk driver!!!! Wouldn”t you agree?

    4. If it is, the law should be changed. go for A drink or 2, but not to get drunk!!Stay home if you want to get drunk. Keep it Simple stupid!!!

    1. I agree with you. People leave bars all the time and get arrested for OUI’s and they never make the Bangor Daily News. Don’t get me wrong, I do not agree with driving after you have been drinking. Seems to be there is some political issue here to do with the Half Acre Nightclub and Diamonds. Somebody has an agenda with these clubs. I have never been to either place but if you read the news lately somebody wants all the bad details about these clubs in the public’s face. I understand when it comes to the big issues such as the stabbing and drugs etc… but reading about the OUI’s is a bit much. We never read about the OUI’s from ladies night at Barnaby’s.

    2. It is not even timely.

If it is news it is old news.

  1. Why so late in reporting this?? This happened 5 days ago! Also, I am wondering why they are reporting about this OUI at all? Is it only because she came out of Diamonds? I think that the PD and locals might be trying to shut this place down. I haven’t been there and it seems like a sketchy place…
