AUBURN, Maine — A judge presiding over an ongoing murder trial in Androscoggin County Superior Court sustained minor injuries Tuesday morning in a head-on crash a block from the courthouse, authorities said.
Justice MaryGay Kennedy was taken to the emergency room at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with neck pain, police said.
Kennedy, of Brunswick, was northbound in her 2008 Lexus sedan on Main Street near Drummond Street shortly before 8:30 a.m. when a 2004 Nissan Sentra sedan driven by Scott Lee of Lewiston crossed the centerline and struck Kennedy’s car head-on. Kennedy’s car then struck a parked car.
Lee declined medical treatment.
Both cars were towed.
Kennedy is assigned to the murder trial of Buddy Robinson, 31, of Lewiston. His trial started a week ago and was scheduled to resume Tuesday, following Monday’s holiday, but was delayed due to the crash.
