BELFAST, Maine — Police arrested a local man Monday night after he allegedly drew a knife during a fight outside the Big Apple on Route 1.
Kean Ripley, 31, of Belfast was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon in connection with the fight. According to Belfast police reports, Sgt. Walter Corey was dispatched to the convenience store at a little after 7 p.m. to respond to a fight in the parking lot.
When he arrived, he spoke with one of the men, who told him that he had been in a fight with a “tall, skinny guy,” but wouldn’t name him, Police Chief Mike McFadden said Wednesday.
“While they were fighting, the tall, skinny guy pulled a knife and threatened him with it,” the chief said.
After reviewing security camera footage, police identified the mystery man as Ripley. When Corey went to speak with him, Ripley told the officer he had pulled out his knife and opened it, McFadden said.
Corey arrested him and took him to Waldo County Jail in Belfast to be booked. Ripley also was charged with disorderly conduct and violation of his conditions of release, and issued a civil citation for possession of a usable amount of marijuana.
Ripley remained in custody Wednesday afternoon at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.

Who else is tired of uneducated people costing taxpayers such as myself money? Right to remain silent is written within the bill of rights for reason. Learn it! The Constitution!
That seems to be a foreign concept, that shut-up and let them prove it. But then it’s surely tied to getting out on bail or not
“midcoast conservative” always pines for the good ole days of Belfast before the “moonbats” landed with their upscale restaurants/bars, microbrews little cars, etc. Well, this is a sign that the Belfast that Iwe all remember still exists. Wasn’t Union St known as the highest crime street in the State in the 70s?
You left out the Wingnuts to whine like little puppies! LOL
Yup that’s all that is left…Losers , moonbats and welfare bums…Something else for Belfast to be proud of…I’m sure the lax attitude in regards to drug enforcement will improve things greatly…Time for a methadone clinic to open…Bangor will be gratefull I’m sure…LOL…
It was a fight, what was he supposed to do, lose??
Lucky it was not someone with a pistola he pulled a knife on.
Never bring a loud mouth to a fist fight, a fist to a knife fight, or a knife to a gun fight.
Drew a knife? Pencil or charcoal? AARRGGHH!
Ah,I see the family legacy continues…
He ended the confrontation without anyone being hurt. So the problem is what?
