BRIDGEWATER – Weldon E. Delong, 79, passed away Nov. 22, 2012, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1933, the son of Harold H. and Frances D. (Barker) Delong.
He served in the U.S. Army in the 1950s. He worked for and drove tractor trailer truck for Albert Fitzpatrick in Houlton. Weldon was a loving husband and a great father.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Wheeler) Delong of Bridgewater; a son, Bret Delong and his wife, Dixie, of Blaine; a daughter, Brenda Drost and her husband, Mark, of Bridgewater; a brother, Wayne Delong of Bridgewater; three sisters, Doris McKenzie of Bridgewater, Loretta Hutchins of Walden, Ark., and Connie Delong of Irving, Texas; four grandchildren, Brad, Brittany, Dustin and Will; and one great-grandson Blake. He was predeceased by two brothers, Harold Jr. and John Delong.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Smith Cemetery, Bridgewater, with pastors Mark Carter and Matthew Farkas officiating.
