EASTON, Maine — Two men were arrested, and one man remains jailed, on charges they stole a large number of glass test tubes Nov. 17 from Easton High School, state police said Sunday.
Tim Rooney, 28, of Fort Fairfield was charged with burglary and theft. Also arrested was Erik Lamoreau, 33, of Easton, on charges of possession of stolen property and violation of conditions of release. The arrests occurred Friday afternoon, state police Sgt. Brian L. Harris said.
The burglary was reported after Easton officials discovered that someone had entered the school and gained access to the chemistry lab, Harris said.
Harris declined to say why the tubes were stolen. Troopers Dennis Quint and Jeff Clark handled the investigation, and more arrests are possible, Harris said.
Rooney posted bail, while Lamoreau is due in court Monday.

Drugs
That’s a no brainer!
sounds like they were trying to furnish a meth lab
I think that they were going to start an extracurricular chemistry class for their friends.
Test tubes for a meth lab?
Jesse and Mr. White yo!!
Oh, I bet they just stole a buch of test tubes from high-school kids because they wanted to help find a cure for cancer:/ Or maybe they wanted to conjure up a nice little concoction of whatever to help cure stupidity….luckily these chemists will be ideal candidates to be used as test subjects in their own study(that can be conducted in their county jail). Yay!!!!
Needed supplies for their meth lab, methinks …
Maybe they are test tube babies and wanted to go home.
Test tubes, TEST tubes, test TUBES. No flasks, beakers, evaporators, burners, nada, just test tubes. The kind sold online for a buck-a-dozen… Keep trying to fit ‘making drugs’ into that, but there’s too many missing parts… Never cooked a batch of meth in my life or seen anybody else do it, but been in on enough conversations to know there’s more to it than that. =)
Exactly i have not done suvch things either but ive read enough chemistry to know this is silly. You can not do a good sized reaction inside of a test tube. You need a round bottom flask, Erlenmeyer or preferably a 3 neck flask for most reactions. Your yield from the average sized test tube would yield mg’s of product and need to be repeated thousands of times to make it profitable.
I have read of some folks using a soda bottle and they call it the “shake and bake” method. Am I right?
Another fellow out on bail violating his release conditions . How about we get some judges to put these losers behind bars for their behavior?
??? No real news today???
They weren’t stolen for a meth lab. They were stolen to smoke bath salts out of. Guaranteed
