LINCOLN, Maine — Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the burglars who threw a rock through a side window at Subway and stole an undisclosed amount of cash earlier this week.

Presumably, the burglary occurred overnight Monday, Police Chief William Lawrence said Friday. Officer Jeff Rice and Detective David Cram responded to the call on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported nor were any other items stolen.

Police ask anyone who might have witnessed the crime or who might know who did it to call them at 794-8455. All calls will be kept confidential. The burglary was the first significant break-in reported in several weeks, Lawrence said.

“It’s been pretty quiet for us,” he said.

  1. Certainly glad they didn’t go through all that for a “Spicy Italian with the works” and a large Coke.

    1. Sounds like they will be looking for a new manager.
Maybe one with some common sense.
That one cost the company alot of needless expense.

      1. See? High paying jobs are opening up all the time!

Right after I wrote that comment, I remembered all the electronics and purses left in cars to be stolen, so I shouldn’t have been surprised.

        1. Then there the angle the crooks just happened to know where the $$$ was stashed Apparently didn’t bother anything else in the store, not even a salad.. Former employee, former manager?

  2. I didn’t even know that Lincoln was big enough to have a subway…. Its a small town, why dig a subway under it? and where does it start and stop? Do they have an “A” line and “B” line etc.???? Is the subway electric powered or diesel? Does it go as far as Bangor? Just wondering….

    1. Just goes from the post office to the edge of town — gives folks something to do on hot summer afternoons.
