BANGOR, Maine —The Eastern Maine Community College Foundation invites the public to nominate their favorite local chefs to compete in the Maine Chef Challenge 2013 being held on Friday, March 22.

The Maine Chef Challenge 2012 was a sell-out event with more than 300 guests. Proceeds benefited students of the Maine Hospitality Institute at EMCC’s new Hospitality and Tourism Management program. The EMCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that promotes, encourages, and supports, financial or otherwise, all educational activities at EMCC. In 2011, the EMCC Foundation was responsible for awarding more than $55,000 in scholarship funds to students in 30 programs at the college.
