AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage isn’t taking up the state Senate’s top Democrat on his offer to meet for an introductory dinner and discuss plans to work together as a new Legislature with Democratic majorities gets to work this winter.
LePage spokeswoman Adrienne Bennett said Monday the governor still wants the Legislature’s top leaders — Senate President Justin Alfond of Portland and House Speaker Mark Eves of North Berwick — to condemn the Maine Democratic Party’s use of a tracker to film LePage at all of his public appearances.
“But apparently, they’re not willing to,” Bennett said.
Alfond on Thursday sent a handwritten note to LePage inviting him and his wife, Ann, to dinner with Alfond and his wife, Rachael, at a place of the governor’s choosing.
“The governor didn’t even have time to look at the note before the media got it,” Bennett said, citing news reports about the note on Thursday and Friday. “If the Senate president truly wanted to reconcile with the governor, would he have released that to the media first prior to the governor laying eyes on it? It looks like a media stunt to me.”
Ericka Dodge, an Alfond spokeswoman, said Alfond’s office supplied the letter after receiving a formal Freedom of Access Act request for it.
Alfond, who was sworn in as Senate president Wednesday, sent LePage the dinner invitation two days after the governor called off a previously scheduled meeting with Alfond and Eves, upset that a Maine Democratic Party tracker has continued to film him in recent months at his public appearances. LePage said last week he wouldn’t meet with the Democratic leaders until they called on their party to stop tracking him.
Tracking has become an increasingly common tactic in politics in recent years in which political campaigns and organizations dispatch operatives with handheld cameras to film political opponents in public.
Even though LePage and Democratic leaders haven’t sat down for a meeting, Bennett said, that doesn’t mean LePage’s office has cut off communication with legislative Democrats. Members of the governor’s staff, including Deputy Chief of Staff Kathleen Newman, have been in touch with legislative leaders, she said.
“We’re very open to those lines of communication,” Bennett said. “It need not be the governor and leadership.”
Dodge, Alfond’s spokeswoman, said Monday that the Legislature’s new leaders haven’t had the chance to meet with LePage’s staff and plan a path forward. And they don’t plan to condemn the Democratic Party’s use of the tracker, over whom they have no direct control.
“To condemn anything that involves transparency is not something you’re going to hear from our leadership,” she said.
The governor’s stance is unproductive, Dodge said.
“What we have done is extend an invitation to the governor to get to work with us,” she said. “Instead, we’re having conversations about trackers and whether or not he’s going to accept a dinner invitation.”
Bennett said LePage and his staff want to move beyond the debate over trackers and meetings with Democratic leaders.
“We want to move past it,” she said. “He’s not stewing in his office about meetings with Democratic leadership or trackers. Right now, we’re facing a significant budget shortfall and that needs our immediate attention.”

His war with the tracker is borderline psychotic.
Is this what he was elected to do? He needs to get over himself to use the in vogue phrase of some folks around here and do his job. His demands won’t be met as long as they are childish demands. No one is going to condemn a tool that keeps a person honest while he works.
Then why don’t Alfond and Eves hire this tracker to track themselves? Aren’t they public officials and don’t Mainers have a right to know their every move as well? After all, isn’t this what these two characters are claiming, that the public has a right to know?
Because I’m sure someone on the right has already paid for their tracker(s), so double-paying wouldn’t be fiscally responsible.
The election is over. The Republicans want to get down to business for the ME people. This involves working on a bi-partisan basis, not souring the relationship before it starts, like the DEMS have done with their tracker, hired by Alfond and Eves.
That tracker has been around forever. LePage doesn’t want to meet with anyone, this gives him an excuse to not do that.
You can tow the party line all you want, but if the Republicans REALLY wanted to get down to business for the “ME people” (<- thats how i know you're not from this state)….they'd ignore the dork w/ the camera and get down to business.
People are starting to see through your bulls-it now…which is why you lost the election.
LePage seems to like battles….but he doesn’t even pick his battles very well.
LePage EARNED the tracker as a fact checker because he continuously denies saying things that he has in fact said.
Right on.
” The Republicans want to get down to business for the ME people”
Then tell your hero to stop the whining and get to work.
Really – you got nothing with this one.
Trackers are openly used by the republican party.
The constant “Do as I say and Not as I do” attitude is really not working for you.
I don’t give a rats behind if Lepage doesn’t like trackers he needs to do his job or quit.
Yeah! He’s a bully and if he doesn’t get his way, he’ll take his ball and go home…everyone with a grain of common sense knows this; it’s been proven countless times. How can any level headed person defend this man?
Who hired the tracker that was following Angus?
The Republicans.
They also bought ads supporting Democrat Dill to prop up department store mannequin Charlie Summers, our thankfully outgoing Teabully Secretary of State.
What do you mean hired by Alfond and Eves? Are you really that DELUSIONAL? Do you live anywhere near the planet Earth? Trackers are hired by the party offices, NOT the elected officials. You need to first get your facts straight. Such as the fact that you TeaBABIES are a bunch of WHINERS. Little BABY WHINERS. You stand there with your Rush LimpMind show and FAKE NOISE NETWORK and act like you’re big tough men who love the army constantly living your GI Joe fantasies, and then can’t even handle a little just-out-of-college tracker. Poor little pathetic WHINING LeBUFFOON and poor little WHINERS like you. You people are WEAKLINGS ! Little whining BABIES ! How about some milk and cookies? Would that make you feel better?
People like Limbaugh are all bluster and grandiosity. They are the only ones impressed with themselves. All “tough ” on the outside, masking a real weakness inside. There is nothing inside. Just an empty hateful soul (if he even has one.)
Pillboy Rush has been laughing all the way to the bank now for many years. He’s a rube harvester.
Remember, you can fool some of the people all of the time.
Thank you for calling out their pantywaist phony leaders.
You are cracking me up! ha ha ha…I agree, but the way you said it has me laughing inside…thanks for the laugh!
they are not claiming any such thing. It is the Democrat Party choosing to do this, not Alfond and Eves. The Republican Party could choose to do the same to the Legislative Leadership, but all their public activity is already available on audio and video whenever they are in committee or in chamber. That would be the public events they are at which match the tracking for LePage. The republicans wouldn’t even have to hire a tracker, they could simply record committee hearings and chamber sessions.
Tell us Alfond doesn’t have any pull with the Dem party. Come on.
Oh what a bunch of pathetic whining babies you TeaRadicals are. You’re supposed to be big tough men who love the military and have all your GI Joe fantasies, but you and your big-mouthed hero LeBUFFOON can’t even handle a little just-out-of-college tracker. How about some milk and cookies? Would that make you feel better, poor little BABIES.
Do you know what’s sad? That the Republican governor has no pull with his own party.
But hey, he indirectly created another job! He’s worried about making a Romney 47% remark that wil cost him even more.
Right after you point out where LePage expressed his disagreement with the Maine Republican party hiring a tracker to follow Angus King around.
How long before Boss Lepage attacks the tracker?
There is no such thing as “the Democrat Party.”
It is hopeless with some with that word. They are either ignorant, or willfully choose to write/say it incorrectly….maybe out of spite, who knows. I guess there is some Republican media/site that , ignorantly, says Democrat, and of course some of them follow those right wing sites, verbatim.
Listen and read. LePage acts like a child because of someone filming him at a PUBLIC event. He believes that running the state everything is his way or the highway. he fails miserably.
Don’t bother. They are an out-of-state internet troll thats been hired to spew gibberish.
and how do you know this? I am NOT saying it is not done I’m asking how you know this person is doing that
Look them up on Disqus’s real website and start looking at post history, when they started actively posting and which stories they post on. You’ll notice that the real Mainers will choose more than just political stories, and you’ll notice the real Mainers are NOT one-trick-ponies.
The trollslaves have to stick to a script, etc or they don’t get their money.
I guess its one of those things that when you take a step back and look at the overall scene….a few of these things are suddenly not like the other (if you catch my drift)
Ah, thanks!
Just because you are paranoid, doesn’t mean that they are NOT out to get you……..
I prefer “situational awareness” over “paranoia”, tyvm!
lol
First, you should call yourself the MaineUltraMINORITY because that is what the TeaPublicans are. Second, the elected officials don’t hire trackers. The party does. Just like you TeaPublicans do too. Poor poor pitiful Paulie. Poor little BABY can’t take the big mean nasty just-out-of-college-kid tracker so has to go slinking off home with his ball and blanket. My goodness, how ANYONE could come to the defense of this FOOL we have disgracing the Blaine House is just beyond comprehension. But I will tell you this. I sure hope he runs for re-election. He’ll get two votes, yours and his.
If the Teapubs weren’t so busy spending money beating dead horses like marraige equality and phanton voter fraud; then they would have the money to hire their OWN trackers for the democrats.
Alfond and Eves aren’t the Governor of a state, a position of prestige, honor, and power. LePage has proven a failure on several counts, but don’t take my word for it…read the comments that HIGHLY reflect this.
the man is a narcissistic tool. It does not bode well for his mental state. Unbelievable that we have to put up with this crap.
Just a couple more years and we’ll be better. If nothing else, LePage has ensured we’ll have non-republican Governors for YEARS to come. Thank you Mr LePage…the one thing you’ve done thats been helpful :)
:)
Remember folks, LePage is the guy who ran for office promising “the most transparent government we‘ve ever seen!” Now in office not only will he not let us see his working papers (a first for someone in the Blaine House) but he’s defiantly opposed to having us even know what he’s saying in public. Are you freaking kidding us Paul?!
I’d say he and his administration has been, is, and will be about as transparent as a massive black hole. His own blatant dishonesty is what’s made tracking his comments vitally important.
Don’t back down, double the trackers!
“Wir sind alle Verfolger jetzt” We are all trackers now.
In America political tyrants who want to hide the nasty things they say and do find that out fast don’t they? The more tyrannical a leader becomes the more trackers SHOULD be assigned. That’s the American way! We provide no “space” for liars or dictators.
Unless like our “President” the Media is willing to ignore all the lies being told. Then the lies will be repeated enough that people believe it.
That’s exactly how the Maine Heritage Policy Center works!
Every place Wittle Tea Party Paulwie goes he has at least one and most of the time more armed State Police Troopers with him. If a law is being broken or if someone is actually a threat to Wittle Paulwie doesn’t it seem reasonable that the Troopers would react? They haven’t. So apparently no one has broken any laws or acted in a threatening manner towards da wittle fella. Perhaps in his job as the Democrat’s “secret weapon” he has decided to fix it so no Republican will ever get elected to public office in The State of Maine ever again.
A normal person would look at the results of the last election and what’s being said in places like this and on “some” level modify their thinking, comments or actions accordingly. Not Paulie! The more the citizens of Maine grow to despise him and his party they more he appears to like it. I now have no doubt that Paul Richard LePage is going to go down in history as the greatest political ASSET the Democratic party of Maine will ever see.
He keeps complaining that the Dems are paying a tracker. I wonder how much they are paying him to destroy the Maine Republican Party with his foolishness?
Yup. If the TeaPubs thought they had a bad year this year, just wait until 2014, especially if GOOFBALL PAUL is on the ballot. A Republican won’t be able to be elected dog catcher in this state.
You may be right.
From the Mayo Clinic’s site:
“When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don’t receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may insist on having “the best” of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance.
But underneath all this behavior often lies a fragile self-esteem. You have trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism. You may have a sense of secret shame and humiliation. And in order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better.”
Sounds about right….remind you of anyone?!
sounds like a lot of commenters here.
I think you’re quite right. From his disdain for people on welfare to his hatred of the mural depicting common workers, I deduce that Gov. LePage harbors a great deal of self loathing stemming from a childhood of violence and failure. He rose above it, but he hasn’t left it behind.
Nicely put. I think you’ve concisely hit the knuckle on the head with this statement/diagnosis.
Sorry to be redundant, but yes, “nicely put.”
sounds like a perfect description of the President to a T
Back to the hills, Jed. And take your friend LePage with you.
BINGO!
Borderline psychotic is right. The story has already been in the Boston Globe and it is only a matter of time before it becomes a big story nationally. I can see the headlines now: “Alleged Unfair Treatment by Tracker Incapacitates Maine Governor.”
Not exactly the kind of story that is good for our state.
Once again, the welfare of the Maine people takes a back seat to LePage’s personal agenda and his ego.
FYI the owner of the ‘stupid lepage quotes’ site (the one w/ the super-awesome LePage/Peter Griffin logo) wanted me to tell you that he’ll bring the site back up eventually…he just couldn’t keep up w/ all the stupid stuff LePage has been saying.
PS you emailed him once about link sharing. Email him again about a LePage android app and mini-game :)
And you reply is both asinine and an indication of why it is so important for parents to get their kids out of the public kiddie kennels, for if they don’t, they could end up thinking and speaking as you do.
Paul LePage was not hired to compromise with the tax and spend party of the democrat, he was hired to straighten out the mess left by those who serve the democrat, then like s of King and Baldacci, all the way back to Jock McKerran.
Ah yes what better way to infect and destroy young minds then remove them from public reality and fill their heads with stories of crosses wrapped in flags and Jesus riding dinosaurs. Speaking of taxes .. politics from the pulpit will end the exempt status for those abusing the privilege.
Sounds like you need a lesson from the Good Book, you know the one about removing specks from others eyes when you have an “extremely” large log in your own?
Yes SwampDonkie, you make my case.
ya got me …hotcha-cha. And which case is that you make this day?
I received a very good education courtesy of affirmative action.
thank you.
Suggest you read your own post again… that’s asinine.
Yes, he is helping to create quite a mess. Two more years and then out.
the christian patriot…
The is to big a word, I am a Christian by God’s grace and blood and do consider myself a Patriot.
Tracking public officials is done BEFORE an election NOT AFTER. This is unprecedented. Apparently, the new ME Democratic leadership does not want to work with the governor. Why else would they have soured their relationship, by tracking his every private move. The dinner is a media ploy to gain favor for the DEMS, otherwise it would have been asked privately. I’m with the Governor on this one!
Its common, not unprecedented. You are uneducated, so I understand.
You should know, based on your comments on here.
they don’t track his every private move. The tracker only attends public events and always asks for permission. This BS about the tracker being invasive to the Governor and his family is completely in LePage’s head. He is being tracked because he says amazing idiotic things in public settings.
The Maine Dems. morals are getting lower and lower everyday. They don’t want to work with Gov. LePage. They are just playing to the cameras while starting the campaign for Governor early.
Thats why he’s been invited to meet with them a million times, and the gov never shows.
LePage is a COWARD.
Does the tracker show up?
No, he’s behind the camera.
Not unless it is a public event attended by Lepage.
“They don’t want to work with Gov. LePage.” Are you serious? The Governor has been asked a handful fo times and he refuses until the dems call off their tracker. Who is saying no to a meeting?
that is just plain ridiculous and you are so partisan that you are blinded by it.
Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black?
No.
because he is an ( diot)!
Where is your outrage over the fact the Republicans have REFUSED to work with President Obama for the last 4 years??????????
Says who it is after not during? He has lied so much it is a good thing to have him on tape.
He is only being “tracked” at events open to the public. Personal conversations cannot be taped. The tracker must request permission to attend the public events just like anyone else would.
As far as “souring the relationship”, that began 2 yrs ago. Paul is going to be a lame duck with no ability to push his agenda. He’ll be back in Florida 2 weeks after the next election.
If not sooner. “Pull a Palin”.
“…tracking his every private move.” Where did you read ‘his every private move? That is an outright lie. Only the Governor’s public appearances are filmed. What don’t you get about that?
Can you read? No, I didn’t think so. The invite was, in fact, sent privately. The missive was requested per the right to know law. What don’t you get about that?
Republican tea party thinking is sooo on the way out. You guys have shot yourselves in the foot too many times.
Tracking his every private move and violating our veterans right to privacy is outright immoral.
It is his public moves that are being tracked. What do veterans have to do with this? He is not a vet.
Oh here comes the veteran thing again? Has the veteran said anything about being offended? No. Why? Because he probably wasn’t. Does he know you are speaking for him?
I’m sure he’s more okay w/ his picture than he is with you constantly making him into the victim he is not.
You talk about morals, then strap your lies to the backs of the unwitting and use THEM to deploy your nonsense. Typical hypocrite.
PS you’ve been told numerous times that the tracker tracks him in PUBLIC, not PRIVATE. If he was tracking him in PRIVATE that would be STALKING and this would be an entirely different article.
To the person who asked how I can tell mainemajority is a paid-troll…comments like the one I’m responding too are the tell. they aren’t allowed to have others educate them, they aren’t allowed to say they are/were wrong. They HAVE to post what their bosses tell them to.
Buh bye troll.
Huh?
yes, it is, but that is not what happened. The tracker only films public events. He asks permission first, and was granted permission to film the event. He did not record any private conversation with any veteran. That was another one of the Governor’s imaginings.
His imaginings and conspiracy theories.
If you are really with the governor you might consider stopping all communications particularly on this site. In solidarity with him of course.
They aren’t likely with the governor himself, and instead funded by their party to “have the backs” of the Tea-voted governors.
Actually I’ve seen state employees who got their job as a reward for their support for LePage during his campaign post on other news sites (where they use their own name & Facebook account) during business hours. Granted they could have been on vacation … but the frequency makes that questionable.
That part I absolutely do not deny. The only thing ‘transparent’ about his administration has been his favoritism.
Says who?
you are in the minority!
It would have to be a media ploy, ‘cuz if anyone was really willing to feed that bloated goat, the budget would be in a more disastrous state than it is.
And mainemajority (which you’re NOT!), the new “thumbs down” button was created just for you it seems!
Not at all true, tracking has been a part of politics for more than a decade. It takes quite a few forms, the paparazzi action being the most obvious. How do you think most scandals, Democratic and Republican are exposed? The effort becomes more pervasive when there is ‘blood in the water’ so to speak. LePage fits the profile because a tracker will find something. LePage has no self control, few scruples and only moderate intelligence. If LePage had more control, he would have been asking for the dinner – it IS an obvious political ploy…..but currently he is out of control. Thus, prime bait for trackers. It’s only a matter of time.
No one really wants to see the Governor’s every private move.
Nor experience him through any other of our senses!
Do you secretly wear white after Labor Day? Eat salad with a dinner fork? Hmmm?
Such a photogenic Governor should be pleased to be on camera. Why hide himself from the public?
Ew.
If I remember correctly, he wanted to exempt the Executive branch from all sunshine laws, an attempt that not even his own Republican legislature could stomach. I really think that Le Page believes that the cigar smoke filled back room in a restaurant where good old boys with expanding waists and bad suits ran local and state politics still exists.
Wrong. He wanted an exemption from one thing, his working papers. That’s it.
Is it possible to impeach this guy, or does he actually have to break a law or something?
I too would love to impeach Justin Alfond.
You have to be a citizen of Maine before you can engage in such things. Sorry.
Aside from Alfond being liberal and a Democrat, be specific and give us some solid tangible reasons why….
He’s a liberal Democrat from a wealthy philanthropic family. Clearly, that is a bad thing.
I’m sure all the shoe workers who got their jobs shipped over seas think he is swell
Oh, you mean Romney.
Which shoe workers had their jobs shipped out by Justin Alfond?
.
I have never heard even one word indicating he has had anything to do with any business decisions in the shoe business.
That money he is philanthropic with came off the backs of shoe workers but he has a D after his name so he is one swell guy
You clearly implied that Justin Alfond bears personal responsibility for shipping shoe workers jobs overseas.
.
You are now admitting that is untrue – thanks for owning up to the undeserved smear.
Harold Alfond sold off Dexter Shoes to a Warren Buffet corporation in 1993. He fought to keep the factories in Maine open during the time of his ownership. As Justin was 18 at the time of sale, I seriously doubt he had anything to do with the jobs being “shipped over seas”.
Why is that? Because he has given the Gov. enough rope to hang himself? Alfond had done nothing. LePage has done even less.
Bennett how do you look at yourself in the mirror?
I know this woman has no credibility left.
By telling LePage to stop blocking it ;)
Vampires don’t have to worry about that.
“Bennett said LePage and his staff want to move beyond the debate over trackers and meetings with Democratic leaders.”
Umm okay…so shut up about the tracker and actually get the gov to do his real job.
They are trying to blame the dems for not working with them when the majority of us know it is LePage and his pals who won’t work with anyone. Hmm before the tracker what exactly did LePage do? NOTHING to benefit Maine except for a sign, fireworks and jobs for his family.
I’m beginning to think that Mr. LePage is like the classic bad little boy who will do anything to get attention. With few natural abilities of his own to do anything good, Paul simply takes the easiest path for attention, being a clown. Watch he’ll get national attention for this nonsense and in his head that will be a good thing. Sadly, it’s not so good for a state desperately in need of leadership.
I don’t recall any of our previous governors being tracked this way.
I suppose it is because we did not thoroughly distrust them.
There was a tracker following Angus King around this fall during his US Senate run. I would wager the Rs paid for that guy, but I don’t know that for sure.
There was a tracker following Senator-elect King, however, he stopped on election day. Hence the Governor’s point, the campaign is over.
That would make sense IF LePage did not have a long record of saying something then lying about it and claiming he never did. His own dishonesty has led to folks wanting his words recorded to prove his lies.
Or perhaps they were adults and didn’t complain about someone exercising his First Amendment rights to film.
The governor needs to stop pitching his fit and meet with the leaders of this state and start doing the job he’s supposed to do.
He doesn’t want to….so he is going to find any excuse not to … you know, it’s the media’s fault, etc, etc. The same old not -taking-responsibility theme.
“You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I’m telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He’s making a list
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who’s naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town”
Oh oh I think Wittle Tea Party Paulwie has been caught pouting. Santa will be putting the wittle fella on the naughty list.
Between the Road Runner, and Wittle Tea Party Paulwie….well, it’s always good to have a good laugh.
Hey at least they are good for a laugh. I’m down here with Scott and he has really calmed down from what he was a couple of years ago.
Laughter can be the best medicine , and there sure is plenty of material !
I did not realize that about Rick Scott…..that he had calmed down. I pay more attention to politics in the northeast than anywhere else I guess. (for the most part anyway) although I have an awareness of what is going on in other states.
Hey, Crist is now a Democrat. No surprise there.
Coal? He doesn’t need any candy.
Coal is so last century. Give him a wind turbine, nothing gets those Conservatives riled up like the mention of wind power.
Tick, tick, tick, goes the clock to get governance done. What’s Mr. LePage doing? STILL, yes STILL crying about trackers. Paul what you say in public IS the people’s business. If you can’t get past that simple concept then it would be best for you and all Mainers if you’d just pack your bags and scoot on down to Florida right now. If you want to be a leader you gotta start ignoring the trackin and get a crackin or we’re gonna give ya (and your entire party) another wackin!
What an oxymoron …. tracking the Gov? How can you miss him? Or is it small feet in clown shoes?
Or he could join the Ds, trying to get their cronies some raises.
http://www.pressherald.com/politics/Democratic-leaders-consider-higher-salaries-for-some-political-positions.html
If they had any brains they would have waited a year. Too dumb to live.
Wonder how Olympia Snow feels about this ? I swore she said something about this kind of behavior as her reason for not running again, apparently Paul missed that.
I just cannot believe how unproductive and how much of a cry baby and all of these excuses LePage comes up with to try and make himself look like the good guy
I normally don’t look forward to elections, but when I do, it’s to vote Paul LePage out of office. Stay wise my friends.
He’s full of himself. That is typical behavior for someone who is deluded about his own importance.
” It looks like a media stunt to me.” –Adrienne Bennett
LePage himself is a media stunt gone bad.
He thinks it’s his way or the highway. Not a good approach from the governor of Maine.
It’s an unacceptable approach for any elected official!
Democrats, can’t you just drop the tracker, call his bluff, and get working together for the people of Maine? Let’s get going here…
Maybe turn around and ask the Governor the same thing….since we hired him and he isn’t doing what he was hired to do.
This is America. We believe individual freedoms are more important than just about anything else. The governor works for the people, including those in the Democratic Party who hired the tracker. The tracker has not done anything unlawful or disrespectful. He has not done anything that a good news reporter would not be doing. It is LePage’s request that is unreasonable. It is LePage’s attempt to manipulate others into pulling the tracker that is disrespectful. It is LePage’s unwillingness to move beyond the annoyances of the tracker and deal with the job he was elected to do that makes him come off as petty and — frankly — incompetent.
When a child is being unreasonable, manipulative, disrespectful, and petty, do you back down and yield to that child? I would think not. Democrats absolutely should not back down on this issue.
Pouting in the corner and refusing to meet with Democrats is the media stunt, Ms. Bennett.
Oh is wittle Tea Party Paulwie still upsetums? Poor Baby. Did the big mean “tracker” scare the wittle fella. Isn’t there some adult in the Republican Party that can tell this petulant jerk to take off his flippin’ diaper and put on his big boy pants. Either that or get to hell out of office and let the adults run things. The Governor’s Office is not supposed to be ding dong school. What’s next for wittle Paulwie? Will he want Ms Bennett to give him his milk in a sippy cup? Hope it won’t be one with BPA.
Poor Paul LePage his big mouth is interesting to some, so the tracker documents the governor’s interesting moments..you know kiss my butt moments..
I’m starting to like you :)
Dont blame Lepage….blame those who voted for him !!!
… or both. There’s more than enough blame to go around.
Everytime he opens his mouth, he proves that he is not capable of carrying on with this term as governor!
He should just quit. Sarah Palin did it so why not him?
“Maine – Open for Business”… However, the governor is “Closed Until Further Notice”!
Give credit where credit is due. LePage can now officially claim he has created a grand total of two jobs: one for his daughter, and one for the tracker.
He also hired his brother in law for a high level job in state government where he did not even meet the minimum requirements.
Impeachment………why wait another TWO years to get rid of this clown ? When is enough……. enough ?
Since he is failing to fulfill his duties, he should be impeached. He wants to play hardball, then lets bust his….bubbles.
Nice to see someone draw a principled line agains slimy practices. And bald-faced media stunts–like inviting someone to dinner and then releasing the invite before the recipient even receives it. You can’t blame someone for refusing to provide footage for out-of-context smear campaigns by unaccountable Democratic PACs.
you should stick to oatmeal
Are we certain the note was released before the Governor received it or simply before he acknowledged it? And if something is FOIA’d, the Senate Office really has no choice.
Nobody likes slimy practices. Nixon had his dirty tricks campaign, Reagan had his Iran Contra, GW had his hanging chad presidency. “Out-of-context smear campaigns” are a Republican tactic: as in swiftboat, as in birthers, as in fake pimps applying for welfare. Inviting someone you want to work with to dinner at his choice of location is not a slimy practice. Answering an FOIA request is not a slimy trick. If Lepage really wanted to get to work on the peoples business he could have invited the Dem leaders and their spouses to a private family dinner at the Blaine house.
Not alot going in Chamberlain..except delusions
Now, really, shouldn’t the Governor be docked for the pay that he has been receiving all these times that he refuses to do his job? He should also reimburse the state for the pay that the legislators are receiving in anticipation of doing THEIR jobs, but are unable to because the gov is a no-show.
I suggest that people from the Comedy Channel and Saturday Night Live start tracking the Governor as well. A wealth of material there.
what’s next, vetos in purple crayon?
good one doug!
smiley faces have already been done
Just wait till they take him to the Vet’s office for his neutering !
This is KARMA that has come to Lepage
For everyone that had to put up with neighbors setting off nightly fireworks just to irritate other people, Lepage has to put up with photographers clicking photos one after another, just to irritate him.
Hey Lepage, the photographers are only celebrating their freedom. Hows that going for ya?
“We want to move past it,” she said. “He’s not stewing in his office about meetings with Democratic leadership or trackers.”
ROFL! Why would you bring something like this up, just to deny it, if it wasn’t actually true?!
The effete Alfond — a trust fund wastrel of no significant merit — is renowned for an unrelenting affectation of pusillanimity and hubris that is frequently associated with the surreptitious slithering of an asp.
What a dcehobuag remark.
Somebody got a thesaurus for Christmas!
don’t worry he doesn’t know what he is saying either
Definitely. Release a private invitation to dinner to the media before sending it.
Who is to say that is not Bennett-spin as well? The tracker taped a private conversation with a veteran? More spin.
There’s only one solution to this problem with governor I got my nose out of joint. Hire two trackers that constantly hound dog our lame duck quacker.
Dozens of citizen volunteers with video cameras would be even better.
excellent point !
The governor is in obstruction mode just like the rest of the republican party. They wrecked the economy and caused all this suffering. What should we expect from angry white guys who’s only plan is to make the victims of the recession that they caused the scapegoats.
Republican’s will use every dirty trick in the book to advance their misguided policy of starve the beast; redistricting, voter disenfranchisement and crying about the debt that they created.
I think the thing they are most afraid of is that the democrats will again produce results from thoughtful policy and it will be crystal clear to all American’s what the problem has been all along; republican’s.
Yes, and a lot of the American electorate saw what they were up to, didn’t like it, saw it for what it was, and voted accordingly.
How does someone get an FOI request for a private note before the person you sent it to. I don’t blame the governor for not wanting to work with this pack of liars.
A member of the Governor’s staff could have leaked it to the press.
Notice that even Adrienne Bennett is not claiming that the media received the note before LePage did. It seems that Mr. LePage simply hadn’t gotten around to READING the letter yet: “The governor didn’t even have time to look at the note before the media got it,” Bennett said.” And what was the holed-up governor so busy doing that he hadn’t yet read the letter, one might ask.
Good catch. LePage is PO’d because he was too lazy to do his job …
… again.
Busy smoking and checking out women at the cross building
lepage is kinda like the town drunk insisting that he’s fine to drive home…
OMG LePage is NOTHING more than an overweight 3 year old who throws tantrums when he doesn’t get his way….WHO CARES if Fatty Arbuckle won’t play nicely with the other kids. Ignore Fatty and let the legislature do it’s job. Fatty will be gone in 2014 and will be a lame duck until 2014…..good riddance to the biggest embarrassment ever to this state. LePage doesn’t want to ‘move beyond over trackers and meetings with democratic leaders’ all you have to do is look at the BS he says and then watch what LePage does -they don’t ever match up. Actions speak far louder than words. LePage is a joke…a pathetic joke who will go back to Florida or Canada in 2014. AMEN.
The headline should read Democrat Leaders. There are no democratic leaders in Augusta or in the USA.
Do you think the Republican party in Congress are leaders? Leaders of the NO party that’s all they are good for.
The word is Democratic.
Did the dolt stomp his foot? A sure sign he and the T’Baggers are mere children is when they stomp their foot, oh and whine too. ROFL! It is fun to watch the demise of the Baggers is it not?
YES! I absolutely agree…they were mad …mad as helll about the taxes they had to pay. To solve the problems they would not pay taxes!!!
Does LePage not realize that pretty much everyone has a smart phone now with video recording capabilities? A lot of trackers out there.
Yeah…….where WATCHING you Penguin! Whaddya gonna do……..whaddya gonna do?
Dinner is served, crispy duck and fine whine !
Global Warming Starts in Maine. So much hot air being spewed in the comments against Gov. LePage, had to put the a/c on. Not one nice statement here and why should anyone be surprised. The ONLY thing you all have neglected to call the Gov. is a —————–! Look in the mirror people and you will see the answer.
Oh bear, it’s not hot air, it’s the smell of defeat coupled with the stench of a party so far right they can’t get out of their own way. It’s the smell of stale crackers in a red tide clam chowder for chumps.
As I suggested, look in the mirror. It will not be nice.
I suggest that you face reality.
Reality is seen in the comments here. It is not a good reality. Maine needs to seriously improve the educational programs.
Well how about you say some nice things about your favorite Governor. Talk about the great job he’s done. List his great achievements here in the last two years. Make sure you vote to re-elect him. How’s that for starters?
Obvioulsy the liberals were never taught to be nice to others who do not agree with them. The stench of the comments here is that of the septic overflow.
Nice? You had better realize this is a war of sorts, the extreme right cares nothing about anything but foisting it’s ideology on those of us who do not agree with their extremist views. They lie cheat and steal what does not belong to them to achieve their goals. Until they cease in their extreme ways I refuse to be civil. Whatever it is your party has become they are unrecognizable as anything that could be considered America.
Where on earth do you get your news to voice your comments/ “War of sorts”, “Extreme right etc.’. “Lie,cheat and steal”. You summed all the comments into a huge ball. Have fun treading stuff in the septic.
Oh bear, your head is obviously stuck in a bucket of doughnuts and all you hear is lalalalalalalala.
And your governor was never taught to be nice to anyone.
He has more decency than the people who have voiced their negative views here. Go ahead, play in the septic.
A conservative tea bagger who believes in global warming! Wow!
Be careful not to drown in your sea of septic waste…………..
Once again, we have a totally unhinged mind at work with this Governor Goofball. He says he wants to “move on” to the serious business of the state, wants to “move on” from debates about trackers and meetings with the Democratic leadership, but then refuses to meet with them over the tracker. If he has a problem with the tracker, he needs to take it up with the Democratic Party office in Augusta. Alfond and Eves have NOTHING to do with that. They need to be working in PARTNERSHIP. That is what governing is. Governor Goofball needs to stop being a GOOFBALL, needs to GROW UP, needs to get on the right meds, and needs to do his job and meet with the Democratic leadership to start working on a spirit of compromise with regard to the budget matters. My goodness, 2014 can’t come soon enough. We are going send this delusional FOOL packing but good.
I think most of us saw what was ahead with this governor during the debates leading up to the 2010 election and it wasn’t good.
this is why third parties are a terrible idea without a 1-2 vote or runoff election system.
Nonsense. Democracy gives victory to the majority. 1 vote. Use it wisely.
How do you find middle ground with someone who won’t even sit at the table? Any day now I expect to see Paulie take off his shoe and start pounding it on the podium.
He thinks he is better.
Bigger?……yes. Better……no.
First order of business for the ME legislature: Impeachment proceedings should be iniated…
Go to hell, LePage! You STINK as governor!
Time for a clear strong demonstration of how disgusted Maine citizens are with the ignorant arrogant fool in the Blaine House.
.Dozens, perhaps hundreds, of people should show up with video cameras at all of petulant Paulie’s public events for awhile.
Miss Bennett, it’s time for you to get a new job, because it’s obvious you can’t control your boss. You’re akin to LePage’s attorney in the court of public opinion, and you’re embarrassing yourself by continuing to work for the governor and offering such weak arguments on his behalf. It’s doubtful you’ll ever be able to return to being a reporter if you don’t get out now.
If the governor behaved himself he would have nothing to fear from the tracker and eventually Democrats would find the expense of a tracker less than worthwhile. Why an adult man cannot figure this out for himself raises the question: Is the governor an adult?
The governor and his handlers are well aware that LePage has a long and storied history of being unable to keep his mouth shut or at least stay on topic, especially just after any event where drinks are served.
LOL. So glad I moved out of Maine permanently, far far away. IMHO, Maine will always be a backward, irrelevant liability for the rest of the country. Maine continues to elect idiots from both parties and the State suffers for lack of sound leadership. When a Governor is elected, the losing party dedicates the next 3 years to tearing him down, essentially making him a lame duck. Nothing is accomplished. Good luck with your future.
I suggest that Maine re-elect Baldacci. He did a stellar job for Maine. I’m guessing everyone was happy with his performance.
Since Governor Baldacci took office in January
2003, Maine jobs (non-farm seasonally adjusted
wage & salary employment) have grown by 1.4%
(8,500) to 614,000.1 Yet, Maine Medicaid has grown
by an astounding 15.1% (34,000) to 261,279.2
After two years of Governor Baldacci, Maine Medicaid
is growing 1077% faster than Maine jobs.
Great choice.
I’m also glad that you moved far far away. Tell me about the people that got put on medicaid. I take it you have reviewed all the files. Also I wasn’t aware that Baldacci personally signed the documents for all of those people to be on medicaid. He must have been busy
Maine has one of the oldest populations in the Nation. Of course Medicaid enrollments went up!
It’s good that you aren’t in Maine then….
I suspect that the readers of these comments who would never dream of commenting here themselves have an opinion which is characteristic of Maine
independence. To all of you who this applies to I would ask, “Are you comfortable with these comments or are you insulted at the capacity of some of your fellow Mainers to bite venom like this?”
Freedom of speech is as necessary to Americans as oxygen but
how is it that discourse has devolved to the point where people assume no
personal responsibility for the words they own especially in such a publicly documented forum such as this? Lack of personal accountability flashes the barest of humanity.
Mainers, we are better than this! Oppositional opinion is vital to healthy freedom but the lack of personal self-governance as displayed here in these overtly hateful personal comments about the Governor are beneath the standard which I believe civil, independent Mainers instinctively know. These vitriolic comments say very little about the Governor and his administration.
Govern ourselves or we will be governed.
You would restrict free speech? I think people have the right to express their opinions.
I repeat, “Freedom of speech is as necessary to Americans as oxygen…”
It is our fine governor who has set the bar so low
Your opinion…no more, no less than mine.
unless you live in an oxygen free zone as many on the extreme right do, one can only conclude they carry what air they need in their heads.
I will take your bipartisan inclusive commentary as a your offered gift..Thank you!
Respect begets respect. Disrespect begets disrespect.
I don’t honestly know what was said in forums such as these about Paul during the 2010 campaign season, I wasn’t around – maybe it was just as ugly with the ultra-partisan types, though not on the scale we’re seeing 2 years later surely?
From my perspective – many, although disappointed in Cutler’s close loss (and Libby’s whooping), were at least open to seeing what LePage would do and willing to give him some benefit of the doubt. He took this chance and squandered it, almost immediately.
This is simply Newton’s 3rd law in action here. This ugliness mirrors the ugliness rendered by the Governor, his administration and yes, his followers, on boards just like this.
I would like to expand on my point. Personal responsibility applies to every individual whether the Governor or a commenter. In a free society this is a decision which some choose and others walk away from. When we choose a human being to be a governmental leader the liklihood is that his or her ideology will elicit dissidence.
That said the point of my post was directed at those who chronically choose to ignore the responsibility that only they can control. It’s real easy to criticize the “Loud mouth who can’t control his mouth” if your own lack of responsibility absolves you of fairly receiving the same judgement…because it’s simply “not true”…just ask them.
Freedom is not free.
While I agree we all have a choice to be civil or not (with many choosing the latter) – it’s not unfair to expect that our elected leaders – our representatives – be held to a higher standard than blowhards on a message board. If one is expecting high level intellectual conversation here, they’re coming to the wrong place. It happens on occasion, though it’s a rare exception.
Everyone knows what Democrats and Republicans generally stand for ideologically speaking, though that does not absolve any of them from trying to represent all their constituents to the best of their ability. When one governs in a way that not only aims to serve minority interests, but does it in such a flagrant and disrespectful way, is it any wonder that there is so much blowback?
For years we were told there was no difference between the parties. The truth or untruth of that statement aside, Voters-D and Voters-R took a somnambulatory walk into the voting booth intellectually armed only with their “D’s” and “R’s” for decades but the current political ideological divide still manifests itself as a “D” and “R” street fight. Crazy to say there actually is no “politics of personality” fight as all of us agree that corruption, blame, deceit and lies are wrong but the fight is just a fun comfort zone so why stop the fight with “them”?
Of course, the cats are not away while the mice are playing. They’re quite busy with their polarized ideologies. Progressives are doing everything they can to usurp centralized government and redistribute private sector money while conservatives fear that the opportunity society of freedom, applied individualism and self-governance is more than threatened.
Respect? Constitutional dissolution vs. protection is not the common social issue fight. To the extent that Progressives are waiting for their moment I believe Gov. LePage is passionately protective about the Constitution. Do the mice understand this Constitutional fork in the road? We know the answer to that just as plenty of Maine conservatives know the level of respect they have received from Augusta for well nigh onto half a century. They understand his words well and are gratefully prepared to respect the Governor for fighting the good fight beyond the playground.
What tangled webs we weave.
Both the left and right use the constitution as a prop when and only when it supports their argument. Much like the bible and religion in general. Whether the policies match Constitutional or Christian ideals is secondary. It’s the lip service the “mice” seek.
There is room for fiscally responsible, constitutionally respective, progressive policies. We are not talking about oil and water here. Moderation is the way forward.
So, Pauly, it was okay for the GOP to send “trackers” around to spy on Democratic candidates and politicians but when the tables get turned, you feel that the solution is to act like a thre year old. You do know that they state can be run without you, just like Mardens has been doing these past few years. Why not pull a Palin and ease on into retirement in Florida early so you can go on your TeaParty speaking tour, rousing the rabble and calling anyone and everyone who doesn’t agree with your myopic vision a bunch of names.
Time to start doing the business of the people of the State of Maine. The tracker should be told to back off, the Govenor needs to toughen up and get down to business. Both parties need to shut up, grow up and get to work to solve the fiscal problems within this state. I for one am sick and tired of the backwoods mentallity of Maine politics, get to work and represent the needs of the people who elected you, and that does not mean debates about whoopie pies.
Folk’s, we are getting a good preview of a lame duck Governor and a Legislature that is going to be running the State thru legislation simply because the Governor wants to run the State using the ‘My way or the highway’ philosophy. In case Paulie missed it, the election’s are over and the GOP got trashed so get over it. By refusing to meet with the Democrat’s, LePage is proving that he’s unfit, politically and emotionally, to govern since he has to, under a democratic form of government, discuss, neogotiate and compromise in order to govern Maine responsibly and effectively. This ‘I’m gonna sit and hold my breath ’till I’m blue in the face’ nonsense is just making the point more public. 2014 can’t come fast enough !
And Paulie’s temper tantrum’s are also gonna have one other very beneficial effect too. Courtesy of last year’s budget ‘cluster’, Paulie managed to get both Party’s Moderate’s, who are now in the Majority of their respective Party’s, talking and actually listening to both each other and to see LePage for what he is. Maine moderate’s, on both side’s, now have a chance to get Maine moving forward and clean out the trash of political extremist’s once and for all. The big question is are both Party’s prepared to take on that task in their own Party’s for the benefit of all of Maine ? Time, and the 2014 election’s, are gonna tell…………………..
This reminds me of the Saturday Night Live skit where for weeks we were reminded that Francisco Franco is still dead…….
Lepage really does need to pull up his rather large big boy pants, try to tighten the belt and get down to business. The guy is a real waste product.
We should all send him suspenders (size XXXL) for Christmas because he needs so much help with his big boy pants.
Has anyone seen Naran Rove Spouting lately? I figured that she would be here all along. They must have her working on commenting elsewhere. With limited resources they can only afford her to comment in a limited number of outlets.
Careful, or you will summon the “Jabberwocky, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!”
She’s waiting for her predictions (bordering on a guarantee) of a Republican sweep of the state legislature and the presidency to age out a bit in hopes that no one will member that silliness.
Shhhhhh…. it’s been so pleasant without her.
Oh, my, you people can be so cruel.
She says you guys are less interesting than dental floss. It’s on AMG.
Paul LePage has said SO many stupid and insulting things to the residents of Maine, Why not record a FEW THOUSAND More…..!!!!!
Looks like we are effectively down to two working branches of government. Hope the R’s & D’s in the legislature can get along this year or nothing will get done under the dome. Any R that is unwilling to break with the gov should be working at Marden’s in 2014.
Insider talk in the moderate Republcian circles that they will absolutely team up with the Democrats if they agree to build bipartisan solutions.
.
And Marden’s says Lepage is very obviously way beyond his expiration date (the stink is a dead giveaway) and they refuse to take him back.
You forgot that the Koch Brother love his style and will surely give him a position.
what will the footage the “tracker” gets be used for? Something positive?
The tracker will demonstrate to the people of Maine what a terrible mistake was made when this Buffoon was elected to the office of the Governor or Maine, he also holds the titled of the “Worst” Governor ever elected to the office of Governor. He is a shame to the office.
I would think that the footage will be edited to make him look worse than he really is.
How has Gov. Paul LePage earned a tracker? He wrongly claimed Maine charges sales tax on bull semen. Watch:
http://youtu.be/UtBC5TWOPBY
Or watch as he said people pay taxes and eagles don’t:
http://youtu.be/KaA0rJN2i-M
Or here where then-candidate LePage explains that he couldn’t give one of his employees at Marden’s a raise because she’d lose her MaineCare coverage:
http://www.dirigoblue.com/2011/12/lepage-targets-working-poor-to-reduce-welfare-shortfall/
Call off the tracker. I’m sure there are plenty of people with cell phones and digital cameras who will show up at Paulie’s public events and gladly share them with the Demos and the rest of the state. Not only that, but since they would not be paid trackers, they would not be restrained by the rules that trackers must follow. If you think Paulie is upset by one Demo paid tracker, what will he do when he sees a hundred cameras being aimed at him by private citizens? I predict a total meltdown. Ok, Paulie, it’s time to shut up and man up to the job. Of course, if you’re not man enough to put aside your petty battles and get down to business, perhaps you should step aside and let an adult do the job.
How long does it take to respond to an open dinner invitation?
Apparently no one was available to read it to him.
He has to wait till Adrienne read the data to him as he has a learning disability – like he flunked the course titled _ working with people:)
Will LePage stick it out and wait for the 25K annual pension or will he quit early and move back to Florida?
We can only hope.
Since he is already at the retirement age he gets the pension as soon as he leaves office.
He qualified for that after 6 months in office.
Speaking of letters, I wonder if Pouting Paulie has opened the letter from Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius yet? Maybe that’s why he wants to hide. What a failure he and his ALEC Heritage bosses are.
Alfond — the effete trust fund wastrel — has an unambiguous history as a presumptuous little brat dating from childhood. Regrettably the lineage of hard work and honesty that were the hallmarks of his grandfather Harold failed to take seed in this egocentric offspring of questionable heritage. The real issue of duplicity now rests with a gavel that will be wielded by a man-child who is intent upon advancing his career in lieu of addressing the issues that face the state of Maine.
we need an amendment to the Maine Constitution to allow a citizen recall of state officials. it’s the only way we would be able to remove a vulgar mean-spirited bully from office.
If that was true we would not be living through the decline the dems forced on Maine over the past thirty years.Hopefully this does come to light,Alfond and Cain will be the first to test it.
Yeah the statewide dislike of “the dems” explains both House seats going to dems.
.
Oh wait – that proves the exact opposite of your theory.
Instead of whining the LePage crew should look at the sunny side of life and realize all this attention and first hand video will allow this Governorship to live in infamy forever plus it will signal to him and others of his ilk the end is in sight.
And the winner is SD, the leader of the Septic Swimmers Club. You betcha…….
Oh bear, you still have the honey jar on your head?
Honey is better than septic treading anyday. The dems here totally show their true colors. That is so sad and immature.
Oh bear It’s not the honey, it’s the fact your living in a vacuum, you know jar on head and all, can’t see? It’s just an empty honey jar, nothing sweet to be had. Sorry bear.
Get over Gov. Lepage Your sometimes your own worst enemy. You were elected to represent the people of this state regardless of the political makeup of the legislature. You seem to be stubborn just like the president. It is not all about you.
I hope These paid character assassin’s keep it up.The Maine people are seeing just how petty these little dems are.See you in two years Mr Ben.
I congratulate the Governor. Never does the left want to compromise, their meaning of compromise is for the Right to capitulate. Hang in there Paul, continue to put Right over political corruption and pacifying the democrat and his ilk.
So let’s get this straight: you define “compromise” as the governor refusing to do his job and even meet to discuss compromise … because the other party is doing exactly something his own party did just a few weeks ago (and he never objected to it).
.
Note” to anybody needing to find a Christmas present for PastorBobCeleste – he is in desperate need of a dictionary!
Sounds like PastorBub does a lot of preaching from the pulpit of the extreme Right (<—- code words) type.
The other people who comment here are in desperate need of soap for such petty remarks. Septic Swimmers is the new title.
No giving a crying baby a paci isn’t always the best solution, though like any parent knows, sometimes it’s better than the alternative. Calling off the tracker loses the Dems nothing.
And where are the rest of his Republican advisors???? Do they think that tantrums are the way to run government..During the next election cycle be sure to ask every Republican running for office…Where where you then?
The trackers are neither nice nor necessary.
Anyone suspected of teasing an animal into a frenzy would be arrested in Maine today or certainly held for questioning.
The humble Farmer
If it’s not the tracker, Paulie LaPudge will come up with another neurotic idea to not cooperate with those who do not share his lunatic fringe ideology.
Are you saying that Governor LePage is an animal?
I agree, trackers here are the underbelly of our political media landscape. We are amusing ourselves to death, apparently we don’t care much about it.
One has to wonder though, how does LaPage communicate his distaste for anything? Productively? Accurately? Inoffensively? Intelligently?
I support his distaste for the trackers. I encourage our Governor to work on his leadership skills. The afore mentioned attributes are lacking, in my opinion. I would remind him, this is Maine, not LaPageville.
A few hints for our pseudo-governor: Vulgar is telling the president and the NAACP to kiss your butt, not turning on a camera at a public event. Vicious is comparing the IRS to the Gestapo, not filming an egomaniacal blowhard spouting off in public. Vile is giving the wealthy a massive tax break and then saying the state is broke.
The only thing Paulie learned in business school is that showing up a few minutes late for a meeting is a control ploy to let the others at the meeting feel that your time is more important than theirs. However, thinking outside the box, as he is prone to do, he has carried this piece of business school wisdom to the extreme and just plain skipped the meeting altogether, while offering some lame excuse, appropriate for the lame duck that he is.
It seems that Paulie is worried about having someone record his 47%- like comment for political fodder. Not to worry Paulie, you have 62% of Mainer’s who will never vote for you and that number is growing daily, every time you open your mouth.
the daily spanking from the petty party. Please keep it up dems your true colors are showing.
One word can describe our Governor- “Buffoon”
The results are in – again the Buffoon has been awarded the “Worst” Governor ever to be elected in political history. This award was made by the national AUCL data group:)
LePage’s rear must still be smarting from the spanking he took in Nov.
i’ve heard that he becomes aroused when spanked.
Now if I were hired by the RNC to trak a female dem Gov I would be arrested for stalking
No you wouldn’t. She would be a public official, and it’d be legal to film her at public events. All of them, even.
Mainers, had enough? This bullying hatred in these comments is brought to you courtesy of the progs who live among us under the guise of the Democratic party.
don’t forget to look in the mirror, when you berate others
Would someone in his “Party” PLEASE tell him to get his “thumb out of his mouth” and do some serious work for once?? C’mon Beth Turner (my rep), do something for the Mainers please and boot him in the butt – get him moving – (preferably out the door)
What a childish governor we have . Big deal if a tracker follows him. Does he want to do some idiotic thing that might get him trouble. He must be paranoid.
paranoid and delusional
Between whining about a stupid propaganda picture and filming for political gain the petty party is off to a great start.Keep it up dems it is going to be a short stay for your crowd.
Now they want raises for the pols, too.
http://www.pressherald.com/politics/Democratic-leaders-consider-higher-salaries-for-some-political-positions.html
Nothing but HATE spews out of LePage’s mouth.
LD 1. “Bill, An Act to Amend the State Constitution to provide Recall Provisions”……………
What’s this about?
Have they called you back to serve…………………………………………………………………….coffee?
Not that this warrants a response, but the members got their own and often treated each other. They looked at it as each has the same goal: to do what is in the best interest of their constituents and the State. It’s not like that now…? is it?
When I was in high school, I had a technical drawing teacher named Mr. Tingley.
Occasionally, he would address one of the less gifted students, who was basically occupying a chair and doing little else, and say, “Stop sitting there with your thumb in your bum and your mind in neutral!”
Mr. LePage could use a teacher like that.
But I can see what Senate committee was trying to do.
Our freeloading oaf is usually a sucker for a free meal.
Maybe they can kidnap his favorite bar stool.
I chat regularly with people from all over the country. This man has become a source of humor across to 50 states. I was asked if our capital building was a 5th grade school room. The saddest part of it is that when he is ridiculed, I can’t defend him. Time for our gubnah to man up and get with the program. When the new guy moves into town, it’s the social responsibility of the citizens to welcome him to the community regardless of whether or not the citizens like the color of his car. Doesn’t refusing to meet with other members of state government to discuss our welfare demonstrate his inability to govern? If not, what DOES it take? If it requires him dancing naked on the lawn of the capital building, that’s an event I’d prefer not have to endure.
Stay as far away from democrats as you can Governor! They are pure evil!
Forget the story this picture says it all. … Governor keep your hands in the air and take two steps back then and continue till arriving in Florida.
Oh for goodness sake! Call off the tracker. LePage doesn’t need anyone to make him look bad. He’s doing a fine job of it all by himself.
A man hired by the RNC to record a femal GOV would be arrested for stalking.
Is it possible to impeach a governor for being unwilling to conduct the duties of his office and to uphold the democratic will of the voters? It seems to me those are things he pledged when he took his oath of office. Instead, he has spit in the eye of the voters by refusing to sign off on referendums and now is making up ridiculous reasons to not meet with house or senate leadership because he doesn’t like their party. At some point this degree of obstructionism has to become illegal.
Governing on borrowed time at this point, here’s a nice definition of what the Gov might be suffering from at this time. Paranoid schizophrenia: With paranoid schizophrenia, your ability to think and function in daily life may be better than with other types of schizophrenia. You may not have as many problems with memory, concentration or dulled emotions. Still, paranoid schizophrenia is a serious, lifelong condition that can lead to many complications, including suicidal behavior.
With effective treatment, you can manage the symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia and work toward leading a happier, healthier life.
