BANGOR – Catherine W. (White) Littlefield, 87, passed away Dec. 7, 2012 at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Southwest Harbor, the daughter of Leslie and Aquaie (Richardson) White Sr.
She attended Pemetic High School, and Farmington State Teachers College. Catherine worked at St. Joseph Hospital, Eastern Maine Medical Hospital, Merrill Bank, and Fleet Bank as a PBX operator. She lovingly devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. She deeply missed her husband, Everett even after 13 years since his passing. Catherine enjoyed camping, picnicking, square dancing with her circle of friends, knitting, craft making, and snowmobiling with her and Everett’s best friends, John and Dot Monohon. She had a passion for spending time in the great outdoors with her family.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Everett A. Littlefield Jr.; two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Caren M.L. Bragg and husband, Harry “Rusty,” of Brewer; two sons, Everett A. “Chip” Littlefield III and wife, Laurie Littlefield, of Tucson, Ariz., and Wayne A. Littlefield of North Conway, N.H.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Littlefield Barnes, Jill Harper, Wesley Littlefield, Ashley Littlefield, Travis Bragg, Jamie Littlefield; and stepgrandsons, Jeremy, Matthew and Gregory Stein; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Ross Manor staff and volunteers, Beacon Hospice staff and volunteers, and Lautrec the therapy dog. The deepest of gratitude and thanks from her brothers, Chip and Wayne, from the bottom of their hearts, to sister, Caren Bragg and her husband, Rusty Bragg; and son, Travis Bragg for not only being there in the good times, but most especially during the more challenging and difficult times, day and night. The sacrifice by her and her family will be gratefully remembered forever.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
