BANGOR, Maine — A woman with fresh scratches and a swollen bottom lip walked into the police station Monday afternoon to report she had just been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend after a fight over a cellphone, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.
Martin LeBlanc, 44, who lists his address as the Hope House, a Bangor shelter for people struggling with drugs and alcohol, was arrested by Officer Kyle Pelkey at about 10:40 p.m. Monday and charged with domestic violence assault, the sergeant said.
The 46-year-old woman said she had been dating LeBlanc for about a year and let him borrow her cellphone. They made arrangements to meet at the Main Tavern on Main Street in Bangor so she could get her phone back, and she was punched in the mouth and pushed into a vehicle in the back parking lot, which was witnessed by others, Edwards said.
LeBlanc was taken to Penobscot County Jail and remained there Tuesday night, a jail official said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

Not to worry.
Obama will give them both a new one.
Nothing to do with Obama. FAIL! Back to the Whine Cellar.
Great couple…
He may be at Hope House because he is “struggling with alcohol and other drugs” but it appears he is losing that struggle.
She appears to have wonderful taste in men.
Dang! Obama would’ve gave them each a cell…with minutes!
I hate to see trouble brew at a nice, well respected establishment like the Tavern.
