BIDDEFORD, Maine — A Biddeford man on the state’s sex offender registry is facing drug charges after selling his own prescription medication, police say.

Michael McKeown, 46, was arrested at his May Street residence Monday afternoon and charged with aggravated trafficking of a scheduled drug, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

The charge was elevated to aggravated because McKeown’s house is located across the street from an athletic field, a designated safe zone in the city.

McKeown allegedly sold some drugs to an undercover Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agent, according to McCausland, and refused to cooperate when drug agents and Biddeford police arrived to his house at 5 p.m. Monday.

McKeown is prohibited from having contact with teenagers, and Biddeford police are investigating reports that he allowed teenage boys to smoke marijuana at his house.

McKeown is being held at the York County Jail on $75,000 bail. McCausland said he is expected to be in court Wednesday.

  1. Imagine when they legalize marijuana. Pandora’s box never gets shut.
America is fast becoming the world’s new ghetto. It’s not really a stretch to imagine what this perv. had on his mind allowing these kids to get stone at his house.

Medical marijuana legalization is but the sham to the small steps to get it legitimized in the public’s mind. Remember there will be no going back.

  2. Is there anybody left in Maine who doesn’t have a prescription for something?
