BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man who refused to quiet down after several requests to do so by Bangor police officers last week was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, refusing to submit to arrest and carrying a concealed weapon.

Luiz Garcia Jr., 32, was arrested shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday of last week after city police officers were called to a First Street apartment building to deal with a noise complaint, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Wednesday.

When Officers Joe Page and Kyle Pelkey arrived, they heard yelling, loud voices and the sounds of people running inside one of the units, Edwards said. After making their way into the apartment, they saw a man they identified as Garcia and an unidentified woman.

The officers spoke with Garcia, but he was not cooperative, Edwards said. While the police were attempting to interview Garcia, he reportedly pulled what appeared to be a knife in a sheath out of his pants and threw it down the stairs and walked outside.

When officers approach Garcia, he became combative and officers had to wrestle him to the ground in order to put handcuffs on him. In the meantime, he continued to holler and resist efforts to subdue him, Edwards said.

  1. “he continued to holler and resist efforts to subdue him”

Hollering? Hollering like GRUNT GRUNT S0000EEEEE PEEG PEEG PEEG SOOOOEEE GRUNT GRUNT?

Interesting. Must be from the Mid-West. Or maybe the deep woods river banjo country of Georgia.

  2. What brings a hispanic to Bangor nowadays? The high paying jobs? The warm weather? Hmmm. I know, to the PC crowd this is hateful, racist thought. Whatever.

      1. What indication did I give that I’m a racist? I was only making an observation. There are no jobs here. And Hispanic descent people in Northern Maine are slim and none. Oh by the way, I just hired a person of Hispanic descent. Difference is, I hired a law abiding citizen. Unfortunately no matter what a conservative does, we will always be billed racist. I say you sir are more of a racist. My merely pointing out his background does not make me racist. You automatically coming to his defense makes you a racist by assuming racist wrongdoing.

        1. Whites don’t have much descendents here either, whats your point? Your all immigrants aswell, just sayin’. Carry on.

Why would he need a reason to be here if hes legal? I see plenty of useless people who do and don’t work, having a job and working away 40 hours a week isn’t exactly the “smartest” option, and at the end you probably end up looking similar in aging.

There is plenty of jobs, its just most of the positions available for non qualified workers aren’t worth wasting the time working unless you made a mistake and didn’t use a condom or something, or need extra money to pay for tuition, still in high school, ect ect ect. (insert typical sterotype here)

The issue is the disturbance and the carrying concealed weapon, not race, descent, or why hes here; semantics.

      1. They don’t need to be brought there. They’ve been born and bred there for generations. It was easy when everyone was caucasian.

          1. I’m sure it’s from the clean unadulterated lifestyle he has chosen. It’s not the race that annoys me. I could care less. It’s the buffoonery, regardless of skin color. It just makes it more annoying when it is imported to Maine.

        1. Yeah – I think that 1st is a ghetto because the slum lords that own those homes are allowed to get away with it.

          1. Yes this is an old point bangorian tries to make at every whipstitch ,it is never the fault of the criminal it is always the landlords fault for renting to them .I will bet you dollars to doughnuts if the landlord refused to rent to them bangorian would be the first to scream that the landlord was being racist .What it comes down to is envy ,the landlords have worked hard and made investments in order to make more money and some folks are envios of that.

    1. Me either. Isn’t this the same article that was in last weeks paper…?? Must be short on news this week.

  3. Another “Bangor” man arrested. And the PC crowd can’t wait to squash the ethnic comments. Fine. Enjoy your new environment. You asked for it and deserve it. Embrace it!

  4. Hmmm..Sounds like he was carrying a concealed weapon in his own home. I wonder if that is really illegal? IF he was simply in his house I suspect that charge won’t go very far.

  5. 1.Keep it civil and stay on topic
2.No vulgarity, racial slurs, name-calling or personal attacks.
3.People who harass others or joke about tragedies will be blocked.

It should be noted this is not a comprehensive list.

Don’t insult one another or the subjects of BDN stories. You may be ticked off at what someone did or said, but you can explain that without resorting to name-calling or obscenity. Remember that young people are on this site too.

That nasty line that makes your buddies go “haw, haw”? You’re better than that.

Comments should be your own work, not copied and pasted from elsewhere, though brief quoted passages to make your point are fine. And please don’t use all capital letters. There’s no need to shout.

Stay focused on the issue in the article. Off-topic posts will be deleted.
