OWLS HEAD, Maine — Emergency crews had to use extrication equipment to remove a driver who crashed her car into a tree Thursday night.

Jennifer Pallitto was driving west on Route 73 — on the Ingraham Drive section — when her car missed a corner and struck the tree head-on.

After being extricated from the vehicle, Pallitto was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport and then flown by a LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. No information about her condition was available Friday evening.

Rockland firefighters, emergency medical staff and the Owls Head Fire Department responded to the crash, which occurred at about 8 p.m.

No other details about the accident were available Friday morning.

At the same time as the crash, Thomaston firefighters responded through mutual aid to a report of a fire at the Knox County Courthouse in Rockland. The incident turned out to be a small fire in an exterior light at the courthouse.

  1. “when her car missed a corner and struck a tree head-on.”? I think it is more like she failed to navigate the turn (for some reason not determined as yet)!

  2. Maybe we should keep her in our thoughts and prayers instead of dissecting the way the story was written.
