CUMBERLAND, Maine — Three Massachusetts men and an Auburn woman escaped injury Sunday after their car rolled over on the Maine Turnpike, police said.

Jacquelin Lafortune, 26; Pierre Dubois, 22; Romelly Dastinot, 31; and Jeanette Sweeting, 25, were heading southbound when Lafortune’s Ford Crown Victoria blew a tire, Trooper Anthony Keim of the Maine State Police said Monday.

The Crown Victoria was the only vehicle involved, Keim said. The accident occurred around 6 p.m. at mile marker 58, but the trooper said traffic was light.

The foursome were transported to Maine Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and released later Sunday, Keim said.

The car was destroyed.

  1. Rear-wheel blowouts on rear-wheel drive vehicles is always an unfun experience. Glad they made it out virtually unscathed. No ejections either!

      1. It’s not normal on a straight-a-way at 65mph. Race car drivers are doing 100-200 mph. and usually in a corner.
