LIMINGTON, Maine — A Christmas Eve gathering in Limington ended with one man going to jail after he assaulted a family member and a rescue worker, police said.
York County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to Hardscrabble Road after a report that Steven Perkins, 26, of Limington was acting strangely, according to Maj. William King.
Shortly after Deputy Bob Carr’s arrival, Perkins assaulted a family member in front of the deputy, prompting Carr to not only arrest Perkins but dispatch Limington’s rescue unit.
While the family member was being evaluated, a handcuffed Perkins kicked the rescue worker, resulting in a felony charge in assault on an emergency care member in addition to the simple assault charge.
Perkins was scheduled to appear in court later Wednesday, King said.

Ah, too much Jack Daniels and not enough Christmas Spirit?
Bath salts.
I’m going with “sheer stupidity”. Had it been bath salts, Mr. Perkins likely would have been naked.
Good point. Intense desire to get nekkid does seem to be one of bath salts’ many side effects.
Not a gun for once?
Prescription meds.
Wow. Which ones?
guy needs to be kicked in the balls by the rescue worker about 50-60 times minimum
I agree. I think that a “tit for tat” approach would often work wonders with these types of people.
I can imagine the amount of tough-guy trash this dude was talking. Don’t the cops have to test their Tazers every so often (like fire extinguisher testing)? Cop should have seized on that opportunity.
