BANGOR, Maine — The city has announced a parking ban in downtown Bangor from 11 p.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday to allow crews to clear snow. Any vehicles parked on the street between those hours will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Downtown residents may park in the Pickering Square parking garage or under the Columbia Street parking deck during those hours.

well of course… i violated the ban one time because I didn’t park on an “odd” side of the street. Having never lived in bangor I didn’t know what that meant. I apparently parked on an “even” side of the street. I got a $20 fine and almost got towed but I told the guy to get lost.
The odd/even rule only applies outside of the “Downtown Parking Management District.” Even in these areas outside of downtown, there is no parking on either side of the street from midnight to 6am. 6am-12midnight alternates odd/even.
