NEW YORK — A man was pushed to his death in front of a New York subway train, police said, in the second such incident this month for the biggest U.S. rapid transit system.

A suspect, described as a heavyset Hispanic woman, shoved the man into the path of an oncoming train late Thursday on an elevated station platform in the borough of Queens, police said in a statement.

The man’s body was pinned under the first car of the 11-car train. The woman fled the scene.

Witnesses told police that the woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, was walking back and forth talking to herself before approaching the man from behind and pushing him as the train entered the station.

The man did not notice her before the attack, the statement said.

A subway rider was pushed onto the tracks in front of an oncoming train on Dec. 3, and a New York man was charged in the death.

The system is used by more than 5 million riders a day.

  1. “Man pushed to death in New York subway for second time this month”

Maybe he should take a cab instead.

  2. Now, if it said “Cat pushed to death in New York subway for second time this month”, it would be completely understandable.

    1. Bravo! Well said. Between these murders and the 3 spree killings within 2 weeks, we can no longer deny that our laws must change. We must stop putting the rights of the dangerously mentally ill above the rights of the rest of society.

        1. Notice how the TX Fort Hood shooting, and the shooting at the Amish school have never been mentioned by obama or the media, it does not fit their profile, of it’s the TV, Video, Movies ect…

      1. What do we do though? Years ago, before we became ‘more educated’ on mental disabilities, we basically sent them off to asylums, prisons, half-way houses–all hidden away from society. Obviously we cannot do that today for many reasons, and giving them drugs and hoping for the best is clearly not working out, so what do we do next?

  3. Due to the heinous nature of these acts, politicians must show courage during times like this and outlaw subway trains… especially extended subway trains that can hold multiple cars. These “assault trains” are dangerous..why would you need to own such a train anyways?

  4. “What do you expect from a Newspaper that chose not to write a single story about a former United States Marine wrongly held in a Mexican Prison for 4 months.”

If I were written up in any newspaper for doing something that wasn’t all that clever, I’d figure I had it coming.

Please remember — because many headlines on these pages contain the names of people who are more than a little bit below average, the editor has many items from which to pick and choose.

  5. I predict that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will once again blame the absence of God from America’s public school classrooms for this awful event, as he did regarding the CT murders. This from a self-righteous guy who knowingly pardoned a convicted criminal, despite please from others to keep the jerk in prison, a guy who later murdered four police officers in the state of Washington while they ate breakfast. Huckabee took no responsibility for his moronic release of that murderer. He’s too busy blaming others for crimes in which they had no part.

    1. I bet praying was going on in that school on that day. and the offensive word was used several times you know that word “God”, I don;t go to church but am also not offended by that word either. A God can be a lot of different things.

      1. My point was NOT that omitting God was right–it isn’t, in my view–but that hypocrite Huckabee hasn’t the decency to shut up in light of his blatant responsibility for the murder of four fine police officers nor the decency to take any responsibility for his pardoning of their killer despite pleas to keep the scumbag behind bars. Huckabee’s comments on the presence/absence of God are not quite the point here. But he cared nothing about those fine police officers and their stricken families.

  6. That’s it, we need to ban all high-capacity Hispanics!!!
How many more must die before we do something???
