CHARLESTON and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Heaven welcomed a new angel on Christmas Day 2012 when Charlotte Rozelle Hagelin passed away at home after a brief illness. Our mother was born Oct. 17, 1929, to Oswald and Arlene Rozelle.
She grew up in Charleston, where she married our father, Joseph A. Hagelin, in June 1948. Charlotte was a devoted and loving mother. Being a wife, mother and homemaker were all she ever wanted to be, and she excelled at all of them. She was of strong faith and an avid member of Charleston Pentecostal Church. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, icefishing and spending time at the camp on Sebec Lake. She moved to Zephyrhills, Fla., in 1982, where she continued her strong faith and attended several different churches. She enjoyed her independence and loved searching for bargains at yard sales and caring for her many pets. We are grateful to both our parents for teaching us the value of hard work, honesty and compassion for others.
She is survived by their three children, Dennis of Zephyrhills, Fla., Jeff of Dover-Foxcroft and Joanie of Spicewood, Texas; brother, Elwin Rozelle of Kenduskeag; and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte was also blessed with four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
There will be a small gathering for family noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Charlotte’s home, 6236 Ohio St., Zephyrhills, Fla. Because it was her favorite color, please wear something red, as we know she would have loved that. A memorial service at Hodges Funeral Home, Zephyrhills, Fla., with Pastor Steve Andrews officiating, will be held and announced at a later date. Burial will be in the spring at Lord Cemetery, Charleston. Local arrangements by Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
