LEWISTON, Maine — Maine’s newest U.S. senator is poised to make a national splash this week as he appears on two of the country’s most watched television news and politics shows.
Former Maine governor and independent, Angus King, who will be sworn into the U.S. Senate Thursday, appears on NBC’s “Nightly News with Brian Williams” at 6:30 p.m. that same day. Some of that interview was shot in Maine over the New Year holiday.
King, who campaigned as an independent, is a former two-term governor. After his election King announced he would caucus with Democrats, but has said he intends to vote independently.
On Sunday King appears live on NBC’s “Meet the Press” show, which airs at 9 a.m.
King’s staff confirmed the appearance on his Facebook page.

I hope Angus doesnt come on at the same time as The Simpsons.
That would be a problem.
I love The Simpsons.
Not a real big different…..well Simpsons are a little funnier.
I won’t be watching
who cares
This another of those satires like S.N.L poking fun at Mainers.Let’s show the world the stupidity of Maine progressives.
What’s chock full of stupidity is your post.
It is a pattern with him, he has difficulty keeping that facet out of his posts.
Gee that’s swell.
Thanks for the advance warning.
Maybe David Gregory will ask him some hard hitting question like . . . “Is this your Olympia moment ?”
Let the circus begin.
King Angus never met a camera he didn’t like. What a fraud he is. Wonder if he’ll have a windmill with him.
