BANGOR – Mary Irene (Turner) Perkins, 89, passed away Jan. 1, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 20, 1923, in Bangor, the daughter of Roy and Bessie (Somers) Turner.
She is survived by a daughter, Joanne P. Pastore and husband, Erminio “Butch,” of Woodbury, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Julia Turner of Bangor; many nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Donna and Marty Fell and Dora and Scott Petry. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elwood I. Perkins; a daughter, Barbara Walters; a son, William L. Perkins; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, director of Chaplaincy Services of Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the interment.
